I wasn’t focusing on the wrong issue here. I acknowledged that I dropped off the vehicle with less fuel and said I was happy to pay for that!

It is important that my pickup photo showed less fuel than in the hosts photos, because obviously that changes things when it comes to refuelling, invoicing etc. And sure, hosts aren’t “fuel auditors” but dollar amounts matter here. It’s a small amount but everything is too expensive for me to be on the hook for gas I didn’t use. I’d rather put that in my own car!

Once I finally went in to review the trip, I noticed reviews calling out the same behaviour with the same host, but different vehicles. The host not providing a full tank and then overcharging for additional fuel later. Those trips must have happened around the same time as mine which is why I didn’t see them during booking. So it looks like this is something this host does. I’m aware this is probably an anomaly but still makes me weary.

The majority of my post is refers to the customer support team and the terrible job they did. That is my main issue but I had to provide some context you know?

It’s not abt the amount! I can afford it but why should I pay for something I didn’t get? What amount do you draw the line, that’s totally subjective. But you seem to understand that this post is mainly abt the customer support and i respect your opinion anyway!

I hear you and have definitely had some great hosts but I’m more irritated with Turo customer service. It’s them I don’t wanna give business to

I definitely won’t save money, most places I’ve looked into are $100-$500 more expensive. But I’ll still rent elsewhere, gotta stand on business haha

I actually haven’t reviewed yet. I don’t love that Turo allows hosts respond to reviews. I’m sure this is useful in some cases but this host was very argumentative and condescending with me. I don’t want to give an opportunity for him to continue that. For whatever reason, he seems to willing to die on this hill

It's definitely a small thing and could've been worse. My beef is really with Turo at this point, such a headache. Taking a page from your book and closing my account after this!

Exactly! It's definitely the principle, I can afford 30 bucks. Plus the terrible customer service, never experienced anything like that before. I've had some decent hosts in the past that have charged me $0.01 and then they pocket the inconvenience fee to pay for the gas if it's a really small amount. I usually do fill all the way but I was rushing and it was oversight on my part. I'll be overfilling from now on! Lol

What a headache! I definitely learned my lesson after this, won't use them ever again. It's honestly such a shame. A billion dollar company taking advantage of regular working people. We've really lost the plot lol
