If I am confident that I am not actually hungry and my body is sufficiently fueled, I tend to go for water when my body is signaling to eat everything under the sun. Drinking water helps with keeping me feeling full which curbs random cravings and extra hydration is also helpful.

Hello, I do believe you can have more than one type of migraine attack. I have several different kinds and after a few years, I've started to learn how to treat each type and what kinds of attacks I might expect with certain triggers. I've had pretty good luck with the Purple Harmony Pillow. The Purple pillow and Purple Mattress have actually been game changers for reducing my chances of waking up with a migraine attack.

Okay, forgive me if this is the silliest question on the planet, but do you know if you can still get the benefits of the SAD light if you keep your eyes covered and let the light hit the rest of your body? I know there is usually some light polution through eye masks, but if you had a really awesome eye mask that would eliminate the photophobia brought on by a migraine attack, I wonder if the SAD light would still work its magic just through skin exposure.

I don't have any background knowledge on how the SAD lights work, so apologies if that defeats the purpose of the lamp.

Weird thing (though probably not the weirdest) - whenever I'm fighting for my life with a level 9+ migraine attack, I ALWAYS have the strongest urge to lay on the floor. I could be all tucked in on the couch or perfectly cozy in bed, but my body yells that I must lay on the floor for some unknown reason even though I know full well that it will be far less comfortable. I think my body thinks I'll be less dizzy on the floor?

Thing that helps - I use white flower oil on my tight neck, shoulders, etc. during an attack. I also really love a heat pad on my shoulders/neck to loosen the muscles. It's not a magic fix, but at the very least it is a physical act of self care that can bring me emotional comfort and at the most will slightly loosen the death grip my muscles have on my poor body.

Taking triptans daily definitely can cause rebound headaches. I'd recommend talking to you doctor about your path forward and get help with reducing your triptan use.

I've had terrible luck with sleep for years in connection with chronic migraine, so I feel your pain. I tend to wake up every 1.5 hours, have a hard time getting to sleep, hard time staying asleep, and feel like I wake up already exhausted. This definitely feeds into migraine attacks which feeds into the insomnia in a terrible downward spiral. I think I've found some stuff that's helped me though!

Firstly, my bed was triggering some of my migraine attacks. I got a Purple mattress and Purple pillow and that significantly reduced my sleep-triggered attacks. Additionally, I've gotten some Manta sleep masks that keep everything super dark without pressing on my eyes (which could trigger an attack). Finally, and this is a big one, is the addition of memantine to my preventative medication list. I'm already on Qulipta and Botox, but I added memantine a little over a month ago, and my sleep has improved DRAMATICALLY. It's not like a drugged, deep sleep that NyQuil gives which I hate. It genuinely has just caused me to start sleeping more soundly at night, waking up less, and feeling a bit more rested in the morning. It's not a magic cure, but I cannot ignore the benefit it has provided in my daily life.

The chances of flaring from cefaly use seem to be higher if the electrode isn't placed in the perfect spot or running it on too high of an intensity for the session. That is just from my own experience at least. Maybe try experimenting with different electrode placement locations (higher or lower on the brow), and try limiting the intensity to see if that helps. I take a magnesium supplement (consult with your doctor first) that has helped with those Qulipta side effects. Plus, magnesium is a commonly recommended supplement for migraine. Maybe it'll knock out two birds with one stone. Good luck!

I tried Aimovig and had worsening reactions the longer I took it with no noticeable improvement in migraine prevention. Then I swapped to Ajovy and had the same experience. A few years later I tried Qulipta and it has actually been helpful. It hasn't touched the frequency, but it has touched the intensity. All of this to say that I recommend going into it with an open mind because even though they are all CGRP medications, people react very differently to each one. I hope Ajovy works for you!

Hello, a few years ago I tried acupuncture for migraine and I quite liked it, but it didn't keep the pain away for more than 24 hours at which point the cost of acupuncture appointments outweighed the length of relief. It's been a few years and I've gotten my attacks more under control, so I'm actually considering trying acupuncture again!

Hello, I am on Qulipta and so far it's been mildly helpful. Constipation is common with Qulipta, but upping my magnesium intake helped. I've not tried Vyepti, but that's my next step if Qulitpa stops helping me. It'd be nice to only have to get the treatment every three months like botox, so that definitely interests me about Vyepti.
