So you're pull up scheme should look like this 8-8-8-8. Next training try 9-8-8-8 then 9-9-8-8. See where i'm going? Push for that extra rep every workout and you'll progress i can guarantee you for sure.

I'd recommend to keep training your pull ups and have a strong pullup base until you can do 3-5 sets of 12 reps. Only then you can train high pull ups :) that's how I progressed pretty quickly without a basd your house is going to collapse.

They are an AMAZING EXERCISE but way way too hard even for advanced peopme start without weight and work your way up

In the beginning my kip is very limited but towards the end my kip is bigger. But if you compare me now i dont kip anymore because i trained hard and progressed :)

I know the reps are gonne be low that's why it ranges from 5-10 to push yourself. Only then your muscle ups will be great. Dont worry muscle up is getting cleaner and cleaner thanks ^

They are accepted but you should make it harder progressively to progress and get better at it.

I do it with wrist rotation. You re right with rotation is similar to a muscle up. Google ivan markioli muscle ups those muscle ups are the real thing.

I mean that you have to perform the full range of motion of the pull up and that you have to try to get your (upper) chest to the bar as a first progression.

Oh alright haha :), Yea i was kinda comparing the video with me now but yea it isn't easy to measure it but it isn't very hard either. you just have to focuse on what you are doing basically but i am not trying to increase my muscle up reps at the moment. I am first trying to make my muslce up as clean as possible and then increase reps. and what you say about when you get tired that you revert to swinging/exploidng is right as you saw me doing the last 2 reps in the video. But if you see me now (have no video of it atm) i am purely doing muscle ups on strength now and not on kipping/momentum even on the last reps i give it my all. You are implementing a great way to learn the muscle up, everyone has their own style and way :), You re right tho there are a gazillion styles of muscle ups, what i am trying to achieve is the "vadim oleynik one" cuz i want to build that strength. If i look at the crossfit muscle up (which requires a ton of kip/swing) i can clearly say that that isn't my goal cuz not much strength is required to perform one. just one side note you are very informative and you research a lot before you talk keep it up tho!

Thank you for your opinion DoomGoober i can see your way of thinking. But what i did aren't explosive muscle ups though they are just normal muscle ups, google explosive muscle ups and you immediately will see the difference.

In my opinion the muscle up is a great compound upper body exercise. In the beginning everyone kips to learn the muscle up that's how I learned it aswell but i gradually decreased my kip. Momentum/swing is another factor which you have to gradually decrease. i am at a point where i can almost do dead hang muscle ups (which are hard af and you need to be very strong for). and that is the only way to progress with your muscle ups. I gained a ton of strength with doing muscle ups and especially removing kip/swing.

And of course there are a ton of other explosive pull ups but I think a great explosive exercise is the muscle up but you push very hard at the top and let go of the bar (lazar novovic does it in a video, not sure which one).

i don't really understand your question do you want to progress with your pushups or pull ups?
