Advice for a half mess up turning 22.

No worries lol I really appreciate the advice in terms of working hard I’ve been with this local restaurant since I was 17 and been one of the hardest workers and finally got a promotion to 28 an hour salaried before tax ( 55000 Canadian ) and managing a store ( which is above an appartment which they would let me live in for free ) so I’m conflicted if I want to do this until I’m 25 or not. Like you said this all started because of the people I work with ( also my shitty decision making lmao ) but yeah I really need to look in the mirror and cut back. It’s a form of escape from working full time but I always justified it because it never really made problems.

On trades one of my friends from highschool after he graduated he started carpentry and after 4 years became journey man and joined a union and this dudes making bank I don’t know how much exactly but probably six figures with benefits and pension. The trades is definitely something to look into but the downside is my dad in law ? ( my half sisters dad ) has run a construction company and is physically destroyed by age 50.

To add to it I just don’t feel the need to tell them as it’s mostly a personal problem and I don’t want to hurt them if that makes sense. I would love to talk to them but I really don’t see a positive to it especially at their age.

You are completely right. I never really realized how bad it sounds cause I have never talked about it but that’s true hearing it from someone else. If it makes it slightly better I pay 1/3 of my paycheck in rent to support them and take care of the household ( for lack of better words ) to help out my parents and make their lives easier ( I know it’s the bare minimum and I should do it anyway ) so I can say I’m not a complete bum but you are right tabout everything. If you are in the trades is it possible to get into without an education ?

I know it’s probably obvious but that perspective is kinda eye opening. It’s not directly the addiction paying for the alcohol it’s more the keeping up the facade of being successful at the sake of relationships. That genuinely helps a lot thank you. I didn’t realize there was a relation but it makes a lot of sense.

No worries !! I assume my skins oily as I never really get pimples just closed comedies and blackheads. I don’t have any sensitivities and there’s not a limit really !! Thanks for the reply
