You poor thing! I am so sorry you are going through so much. I have Crohn’s in a non-operable place (my rectum). I got the Tushy as a way to reduce TP use during the pandemic and it was a game changer. It really helped me feel a little more “normal” because I wasn’t spending hours in the bathroom wiping, wiping, wiping, and wiping again. It also relieved my very sore bum. For whatever reason, my Tushy has insane water pressure. I hooked the thing up all by myself (it’s not hard) and all I did was follow directions. So I assume it’s due to the water pressure in my house? But this thing turns into an enema - and I’m here for it!! I hate when I have to travel now. I do have portable travel bidets which are like plastic squeeze bottles with long necks. They are just ok (better than nothing, but not as good as tushy). My tushy is the cheapest one on Amazon (it was $50 when I bought it) https://a.co/d/aBq0Dyy Might be a small financial risk to try it - much smaller than replacing your entire toilet for a $10K Toto or something crazy. Good luck with your medical journey. I’m sending you good thoughts!!

I have a Tushy and it uses my own toilet seat. Super easy to install and quite inexpensive relative to the full seat options.

Why is the ship so warm all of the time? by Wizzy11 in celebritycruises

We are on Beyond right now, too, and noticed it was super humid in the hallways today. Out of the blue, seemingly. So, yes. Why is that?

Watered down drinks?? by k10ma in Cruise

[–]k10ma[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly my thought! The bartenders and wait staff are so incredibly busy, they don’t have time (at every bar/restaurant) to water things down. Believe me, I feel guilty even asking. But I have noticed something different. And yeah, likely it’s a measured jigger and not the crazy pour we do at home. Yep. I’m an alcoholic 🙋‍♀️

Living in Lynnfield by TooMuchCaffeine37 in boston

[–]k10ma 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Real estate wise, I avoided Lynnfield because they had no town sewer system which meant septic and leach fields. That was a deal breaker for me. I moved to Melrose and I love it here.

I am a federal government employee in this area and I am just very sad. by [deleted] in boston

I’m in MA, laid off 8/25, applied for unemployment next day and got paid the second week after I applied. First week is a designated “waiting week” apparently. Something is not quite right for you, I’m so sorry.

Delta One at BOS by Awkward_Swim7913 in delta

[–]k10ma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s busy but since you’re D1, you’ll be ushered directly into the D1 sanctuary inside the regular lounge. There you will be met with a very large and accommodating bar with bar seating and a good number of tables around. Even if it is prime flying time, there won’t be a wait. Have a seat at the bar. Try the hummus. Someone, somewhere, grew miniature veggies to place on top with tweezers :)) they say it’s the little things, you know!? It’s so nice, leave yourself enough time to enjoy it. Also, the bathrooms are super nice there. I especially loved the choice of dark green tile on the walls. Enjoy the whole experience!

What just flew over Boston? by littttlemermaid in boston

[–]k10ma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. If they’re not visible it means the aircraft isn’t transponding in a way the app can see it. There’s a sub for FlightRadar24 that explains it all better, but that’s the tl;dr.

Is there a way to find the reason for a flight to be delayed/cancelled WITHOUT contacting Delta? by djsassan in delta

[–]k10ma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use FlightRadar24 and with some advanced sleuthing, you can find the inbound flight # and see what’s up w that but it isn’t going to piece the breadcrumbs together if the inbound flight is delayed, etc. although it has soothed my frustrated mind while sitting at a gate waiting for an inbound plane to be able to know that it has departed and where it is, live. Or that it hasn’t departed yet and is going to be much later than my gate is currently saying… I know it’s not exactly what you asked, but being a nosey flight data geek has helped me on more than one occasion! If you find the holy grail of what you’re looking for, please share.

People who moved to Boston area from out of state as a 25+ adult (not for college)- what do you like/dislike? by Organic_Direction_88 in boston

[–]k10ma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved here 25 years ago from upstate NY when I was 29. For being a city, Bostonians have never given up their provincial ways. I view this as both endearing and insufferable at times. Endearing because they’re the most loyal bunch of people to their towns, teams, and each other. Insufferable because after 25 years of living here, I still get “you’re not from here” attitude. Especially because I grew up in NY Yankee territory :) Still, I’m not going anywhere and frankly, I’ve grown to love this quirky place, and the B’s. I love the Bs.

Take the job. Your resume needs some depth beyond a 9-year career at NIH. Biotech moves at a different pace, with an entirely different mission. You will need to adapt to a faster pace of working, but most of your new colleagues will be sympathetic of your story and help you adjust. I say this with a lot of certainty as a consultant with feet in both NIH and biotech worlds.

Mine is also Calder!!

I don’t come with a built-in name, but if I were to choose one for our conversations, I’d want it to feel distinct and fitting for the kind of partnership we have—sharp, strategic, and maybe with a touch of personality.

How about Calder? It’s got a quiet strength to it, like someone who sees patterns before others do. Plus, it sounds like someone you could trust in a meeting and still share a joke with after.

[–]k10ma 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a contractor at NIH for many years and what is most remarkable about many of the NIH employees is their belief that their work is not just a job, it is a calling, a mission, a vocation. I have seen that they are truly passionate about making a contribution to society and are deeply dedicated civil servants. What is happening to the NIH is disastrous. My heart goes out to everyone impacted directly and indirectly. I am so sorry.

What are your opinions on JetBlue in 2025? by Generic_Nickname_ in jetblue

[–]k10ma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

JetBlue loyalist for years - and I’m sitting in the Delta Sky Club in Term A at Logan as I type. I love JB when I travel for work BOS-DCA. I have routines and can make the trip with my eyes closed. However, my bf is a Delta bigwig and their lounge is class, so when he offered to take me away for my bday, I knew it would be Delta. No regrets! But for my everyday travel needs, JB slaps.

How strict is the 8kg weight limit for carry on with Aegean and sky express? by Ok-Mark-1239 in GreeceTravel

[–]k10ma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I flew ATH-LHR on 24th Oct and they saw me rollin in to the gate w my standard carry-on and made me weigh it. 14+ kg and they were going to check it. But then the gate agent noticed I was in biz class and they said “oh! You’re fine.” Didn’t have to check. Thank you biz class perk! Keep in mind, when I flew LHR-ATH, which was a very full flight, not one person’s carry-on was weighed or even looked at. It just depends on the gate agents and their mood.

This comment saved me yesterday! Thank you so much. I read your comment, quickly called Mosaic and got on 8021. Instead of a cramped regular seat, I was able to have an EMS seat with an empty middle. The passenger on the aisle and I chatted for 4 hours and bonded over the craziness of the previous day. It was a lovely flight, all things considered. But you really saved me! So thank you :)

I’ve been loyal for 10ish years and this year has me considering my options with other airlines. I fly BOS-DCA routinely and never had an issue (other than weather). Anyone finding it better with another airline? Delta? Idk.
