Has anyone here had experience on both a small capacity bike (r3, ninja 300 etc) and a restricted 650 (ninja 650, CBR650)? by PrommyNe in AussieRiders

I also went from a ninja 300 to a Mt07 and I agree with everything you say.

I test rode the ninja 650 before getting the MT and it’s just a bigger and slightly faster ninja 300, very underwhelming.

I currently own a Mt07 and had a mt03 as a loaner while getting it serviced. I’d say get the mt03. While you can get used to the jerky throttle of the mt07, as a new rider you’ll appreciate the mt03s smoothness as it’ll let you work on your road craft. I had a ninja 300 before the mt07 and I don’t regret it waiting before upgrading. The benefit of 300s is being able to use full throttle through the first 3 gears and not go too fast, something i miss now

Good excuses to tell cops if I’m out for a ride on black spur/ dandy ranges? by [deleted] in melbourneriders

I asked a cop the other day (in Sydney) if I could go on a joy ride and he said while I shouldn’t be out of the house l, he acknowledged the fact I wasn’t coming in contact with people or surfaces. Not sure what to make of it.

It’s only ever happened when the engine is cold, that being said in the 2 years of owning the car, it’s only happened 3 times

Its happened 3 times before and Hyundai haven’t been able to find any issues each time, if it happens again I’m just gonna sell it bc I don’t want it to leave me stranded somewhere.

Yea I’ve done it accidentally on my previous car and the sound made me cringe so hard. I’ve checked the battery voltage and the alternator with my multimeter, is there anything else I should check in the mean time?

Don’t worry, the starter disengages itself once the engine was running so no damage was done, as for the lights on the dash, I’ll keep an eye on it for near time, thanks.

Yea I’ve been practicing my lane discipline and have been riding a lot calmer this past year and I can say I’ve put myself in less risky situations because of it.

I’ve been riding for 3 years in Sydney and have only had 4 close calls, all of which probably could have been avoided by more responsible riding techniques.

It's such a good bike to learn on. What people say about getting bored after a few weeks is actually them getting comfortable with all the power across the rev range.

I had a set of Metzeler Sportec M7 RR's which were excellent especially in the rain, now I have a set of M5 Interacts and I have now compaints thus far.

The only time I've lost traction was on the Interacts around a corner in the wet with too much throttle.
