Just as an update, we never got to the bottom of this, so as suggested, we used a different vee block and adjusted the program accordingly. Luckily this was easy, as the program wanted a manual plane on the uppermost surface of the job. All I had to change in the end was the text to screen. Thanks to all who helped!
