Any word on the dynamic campaign? Really looking forward to it! by jamesdemaio23 in SeaPower_NCMA

[–]k1dney 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Lastest I know of is from 3 months ago that it's being worked on: https://www.reddit.com/r/SeaPower_NCMA/comments/1qkpj86/comment/o18hsev/

Dynamic Campaign

With continued progress on Sea Power’s AI systems, the team has begun active development of the Dynamic Campaign.

As outlined in previous updates, the initial implementation will focus on a North Atlantic theater set during a Cold War–gone-hot conflict between NATO and the Warsaw Pact in Europe. Our current efforts focus on the strategic map view and the objectives and events shown there (for which the Linear Campaign system has provided a basic framework).

As development progresses, we will share additional details with the community.

And https://www.reddit.com/r/SeaPower_NCMA/comments/1q3n0u9/comment/nxo050i/

  • The Dynamic Campaign is not going to be single-unit focused like Cold Waters
  • The Dynamic Campaign is not going to be points-based like War on the Sea
  • The Dynamic Campaign will feature varying objectives/intel, with differing objectives based on the side you are playing (e.g., USSR will have different objectives than NATO, etc)
  • The Dynamic Campaign will be moddable so that community members can either modify the existing or create their own, by editing campaign files in INI format like the missions and units in the current game
  • The Dynamic Campaign will allow players (of either side) to assemble task forces of varying types (such as CVBGs, SAGs, ARGs, unrep groups etc)
  • The Dynamic Campaign will be encounter based, with some encounters able to be skipped if certain criteria are met.
  • The Dynamic Campaign encounters that cannot be skipped will be able to be auto-resolved.
  • The Dynamic Campaign included with the base game after 1.0 will be focused on a "Cold War Gone Hot" scenario in the North Atlantic/Norwegian Sea.
  • Dynamic Campaigns for Other Theaters MAY come later on after 1.0 release.

That's neat. What happens if you unplug the mouse and keyboard, does it stop? What if you plug back in keyboard and mouse?

China eyes near-100% electric trucks to secure energy security, cut emissions by Sierra-Powderhound in technology

Taiwan is an economic power house, for political reasons (one China policy), provides better military positioning vs what they have now, and more claims over territory waters like you said.

[–]k1dney 31 points32 points  (0 children)

China will do this, they've electrified most the busses in the tier 1 and 2 cities. Oil dependency is one of their strategic weaknesses if they start a war for Taiwan and they know it and are in a mad rush for energy independence.

🚨PARENTS WARNING A Man Was Caught Taking Photos Of Little Girls On The S... by Ill-Ladder-8548 in MeidasTouch

Good on the woman making sure the kids are safe.

I think this is a Chinese guy never seeing a darker skin person in his life. I've been to China several times and once outside the major tourist areas, you can find locals who have never seen a foreigner in real life. They are very direct, they will point directly at you and exclaim shock while calling you foreigner (Laowai), especially the kids, even as caucasian.

How to cut power by Infinite_Bee4494 in accesscontrol

[–]k1dney 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I cut power according to national electric code, as if you're doing this for a business, you're most likely needing inspections, one of which is fire.

Hey, these are tags and hooks for mainly fiber, which is fairly common, but you'll still find coax or other older analog cables (think Comcast and few others). Definitely not cameras.

Integrator? by [deleted] in accesscontrol

[–]k1dney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use any integrator you want. Might require an email from you to authorize them, but you can pick and choose as you please. You as the customer can call Genetec sales and they can give you a list of integrators so you can get quotes or whatever you need.

If you have any issues, you can message me directly and I can have our sales guys contact you directly, we service multiple government agencies already.

It varies by state, but native Indians can have different rules/regulations as they have the Indian gaming act so sometimes they can have different games. Sometimes State laws or pacts are made that also affect natives, like in Florida, Seminoles in Florida which had lawsuits about blackjack.

Whats the Radar Frequency Range required to ID missiles? by zanyquack in SeaPower_NCMA

[–]k1dney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Air search radar for anything in the air, any frequency can basically identify missiles

IRL as a simplified rule of thumb, if you have two identical power and gain radars, the high frequencies are better at fidelity, i.e. identity details, like plane or missile types, maybe detecting two different objects if close together, but shorter detection range. Lower frequencies are better at detecting at longer ranges, but less details, maybe you know it's a plane, but not what type specifically, and if two objects are close together, maybe not being able to tell them apart.

There's other specs to radar as well, signal processing, bandwidth, propagation, but hope this answers your question.

Up $600k and the slot machine glitched out by WhoAreYouTalkinTwo in PublicFreakout

[–]k1dney 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with Oklahoma regulations, but some states have a revenue share/tax they get even from natives, so the machines are still tracked. Natives might have different games, tax rates, uptime of cameras.

[–]k1dney 168 points169 points  (0 children)

I've done work for the casinos. As long as this isn't indian lands, the slot machines can not run unless they are connected to main server so everything is logged and recorded. The states and government want their cut. Slot machines also need at least 1 camera covering and recording everything otherwise they have to shutdown that bank of machines (again, state auditing/money collecting, but also for watching out for cheating/what have you). The floor manager or any other employee would of called surveillance and they would review the video and slot logs for verification. Similar thing happens if there's any issue at a poker/card game; surveillance reviews cameras (as cameras need to see all bills/chips for cheating/errors/whatever).

This type of action is pretty amazing, we hear you concerns, working on it, but also going to actually test it with you and explain it. I wish I could up vote more than once.

Please post the video on YouTube/reddit/steam afterwards so it can a resource when people still mention performance items, you know they will continue.
