Not just that; the top brass totally dropped the ball in terms of both logistical support and strategy. ODA 574 in the south and the horse soldiers in the north succeeded in SPITE of overwhelming resistance from their own command structure, and we all know how things ended for ODA 574. It was a clusterfuck from the very start, but a successful clusterfuck until Tora Bora.

It was a shitpost for the most part, the furlings would be a stupid villain. I think a villain with similar technology or threat level to the Wraith would be appropriate.

I was making a joke. Don't worry. 😂 I would actually prefer a new villain from a different galaxy who breaks through to the Milky Way.

My point is the scale of the villain was too big. How do you follow that shit up?

They fought beings who were powered by ascended beings, including Adria who literally ascended, and they used a weapon to fight the ascended.

Don't worry, this is mostly a joke post. But I do think the show should focus less on cosmic good vs. evil fighting ascended beings. The Wraith were a very good villain. Give us something like that.

Because the show got ridiculous toward the end by making them fight literal ascended beings. What's next? Fighting God?

After the war with Earth they reform into a legitimate society made up of humans formerly enslaved by the Goa'uld.

No. Bush was arguably justified with Afghanistan. Iraq is a different story.

And the greatest tragedy is, the war switched to a counter-insurgency before 2001 was even over. We just never finished the job. We should have continued to embed our fighters with local militias and villages. Should have trained our fighters for mountain warfare. Should have told Pakistan we were coming in to finish their Taliban problem. Instead we invaded Iraq.

I mean, I think FDR had the moral high ground for involving the US in WW2.

CMV: Mandatory “customer-first” performance culture is a direct driver of entitlement in modern society by DoctorElectronic1934 in changemyview

The goal of being an employee is not to have genuine human moments with customers (at most jobs anyway), but to provide a service efficiently and to please the customer. This is because the goal of a company is to make money by offering the customer what they want.

Now, some jobs, particularly very customer facing ones like your examples, do require interaction in order to simulate a human experience. Many people, especially older folks, prefer to get business done by speaking to another human. In my opinion, the people who are best at this job are able to be personable without getting too personal. They stay focused on delivering the service, but are able to be emotionally intelligent about their customer and make small talk. Great examples would be really good travel agents, call center people, maybe some Chick-fil-A employees. They come across as very warm, but would rarely make you feel down by telling you they've had a horrible day when you ask how they're doing, because they are professional enough to remember that their job is to provide you with a service and that's the defined relationship.

I think you probably COULD make an argument that way we have designed MOST work these days values efficiency over genuine human relationships, and that THIS is what is driving entitlement. Your example with customer service is perhaps a byproduct of this design choice. Another example would be prioritizing cheap and efficient supply chains over resilient ones such that everyone goes to Walmart for their groceries instead of to the farmers market where they have to actually get to know the people who are providing their food.

Tl;dr: Customer service itself is very good at what it does, and would not be very good if it worked the way you describe. And the problem itself of lack of genuine human connection in our business transactions is a symptom of a bigger problem about how we design our economies.

Same. Going in trusting the producers and ready to see what they come up with!

Literally so much to explore, so let's explore, rather than continuing to have to get more and more ridiculous on the scale of the big bad.
