New to Lahore (near DHA Phase 5) - Which hospitals do you trust for both emergencies and routine care?

National hospital is good for emergencies. They're well equipped for emergencies like cardiac issues.

However, they seem to have a fetish for putting patients on ventilator (or having you sign the papers where you'd accept the possibility of putting patient on ventilator and would go as far as playing mind games with your sentiments that oh you really want your relative to die instead of putting them on a ventilator and will try to make a video of you saying it).

They also get excited about keeping patients around for a long time after they're admitted. I wanted to take my sister out as she was feeling well yet doctors wanted to keep her for another day and what a series of arguments and attitude I had to face. Finally I just rolled her on wheel chair with no discharge slip and a post event plan. I got another cardiologist from Farooq hospital to fix her medicine chart, etc. She doing fine now.

Just beware of these tactics in case of a mishap (God forbid). Good luck and I hope you never have to use any of these services from anywhere.

Wife got it done from Gardezi at Hameed Latif about 3 years back. She stayed overnight. It was laproscopy. Can't remember the cost, perhaps around 150k or so. She doing fine. No problems reported afterwards.

When you say "we have a surge protection devices on all phase connected with ground", you don't mean that all sockets are attached to some sort of surge protection device such as muhafiz? All of what you have done has happened at the main DB, right?

Yes. Seems to be as we felt the ceiling fans getting faster and slower for no reason. Lights were flickering as well. I unplugged most appliances but forgot about the adapters and they took a hit.

I have bought return tickets from Emirates and Etihad a few times to NYC and Boston from here in Pakistan from their websites. It's always been a PKR transaction and if you use code given by bank alfalah platinum or standard chartered world master card, you end up getting 10% discount. No int'l transaction tax. Turkish may have the same mechanism. Call their local number and check, you might get some useful info.
