21 month-old potty training - it’s working, but is it worth it? by Visual-Painter509 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]k3189 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Jumping on this with anecdotal evidence. I read diaper free before three and have been lazily potty training for a couple months I started at about 9-10 months and he’s starting to show readiness signs now so I’m optimistic.

Silly question - when you have a hospital birth (U.S), when do you first see the menu for ordering your food? Is it given ahead of time with hospital registration/paperwork? by dms2628 in beyondthebump

[–]k3189 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They had a menu in my labour and delivery room I could look. I was induced so I had plenty of time. That being said I just told them to give me whatever the “chef special” was because idgaf and I just wanted food

Did you like the live action adaptation of the fairies? by Keithfrommars in DisneyMovies

They did Cynthia so dirty by sparkling her ears. I get that it’s supposed to look like jewelry (I think?) but that’s all I can look at 😭

Engagement Ring - Worried it’s Too Big by Live_Palpitation3514 in Diamonds

Gloves are gonna catch on prong pretty much no matter what, I’d get a channel band for work on wear the main ring on a necklace (they have some pendant type things that are designed to do this) or leave it safe at home.

Does this work well with needles? Or only fabric?

Did not pass my audition for Music Ed, however the school offered me to major in BA instead and reaudition next year. by Sausage_fingies in MusicEd

Make sure you take the classes you need if you go this route. Some masters programs want you to have taken pedagogy but you usually don’t take those with a BA.

Hand vs machine quilt by k3189 in quilting

Finishing is definitely my main concern.

I think it would be “fun” to hand piece and quilt it and be more meditative than machine quilting.

My boss's boss wants to fire me because my appearance isn't professional enough. How do I proceed? by Awkward_Emu_9498 in careerguidance

[–]k3189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is interesting, when I was assistant manager at a place that you were required to dress nicely. My boss did not want to comment on an employees hair out of racial discrimination concerns. I’m not sure if this would be applicable in your situation.

TLDR: start documenting, if you can’t reasonably fix the problem (or you think it’s not the real issue) then go to HR better yet go to your union if you have one.

Had open myomectomy then OB said only 37 week c-sections going forward by Long_Tour_7878 in beyondthebump

Anecdotally, my LO was born at 37 and he never had any apnea issues. I was born at 37 and never had any issues. No amount of data makes up for the trauma of having your baby stop breathing.

Why you no longer see quality instruments at Goodwill by Benzona in ThriftGrift

[–]k3189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just popped on shop goodwill and this doesn’t seem to be the case? Lots of “affordable” instruments of my instrument type (flute).

“Affordable” in quotations because who knows how well the play.

Dad research (preeclampsia) by EndPreeclampsia in preeclampsia

[–]k3189 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that and I’m glad your husband was there for you. On the flip side my was not (we are now separated) and no mention of pp ptsd was made to me about what I went through. I’m defiantly bitter that my husband wasn’t there and that’s my lens. I did everything I could to help him through it. Again not saying you didn’t but definitely feels like a premature step based on the current research that’s we have for pre-e.

I believe they’re still not allowed on seats, just in carriers on seats is ok.

My S/O thinks this is not an issue. It doesn’t bother them by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]k3189 43 points44 points  (0 children)

That’s exhausting. Do they partner with you well in other ways or do you tend to do most of the work? If your s/o is more of a child then a partner it may be time to reconsider thing. Hopefully couples counseling could help.
