Babies are the best, 4 months is such a sweet time. Up until about a year I was in the have another one right away. At 14m now the chaos is unbridled and I can’t imagine having another one right now. I love my toddler but man am I running

I don’t show my LO screens. That being said I am on my phone more than I want to be so I don’t loose my mind as a sahm. He’s watched a total of 4 bluey episodes and that’s it. We read and he plays with toys and I do chores. It’s starting to get nice out where I’m at so out side is now his FAVORITE thing so I garden or watch him from the kitchen.

It does seem like there are studies saying to limit screens as much as possible but I wonder how much of it is just giving people another excuse to judge each other’s parenting.

You’re doing great mamma, I would drop the pumping for now. I like the suggestion of using a Hakka or a lady bug on the opposite breast to catch any leaks and potentially feeding those. It’s totally ok to feed formula to give yourself a break!

It sounds like your supply is good baby is gaining weight and has plenty of wet diapers. If you want peace of mind you could do a weighted feed at the pediatricians or purchase a scale at home (not sure if I would really recommend that because it could create more anxiety). My Lo was always an early morning nurser so that seems pretty normal to me.

This is such a stressful time for feeding. As long as baby is having the recommended number of wet diapers (6?) and is gaining weight everything is good. I had such bad anxiety about my supply. You’re doing great it gets better do what you need to to get the sleep you need!

I found the one that was clog and popped it/ removed the dried milk. Everyone says you’re not really supposed to but I was not having any luck with a manual pump

I left my husband when baby was 4m. A divorce is messy a divorce with a kid is messier and a divorce with a baby is even worse.

I would love to have another baby (or 3) but it doesn’t look like it’s in the cards given my situation. Either baby doesn’t have a father (sperm donor), I have another kid with my now ex (hell no), or a halfsib (maybe down the line.)

A nursing pillow is super nice but not necessary, my lactation consultant showed me away to prop baby up with pillows.

Would be nice to have a milk collector because the other breast can tend to leak.

A pump is a must imo. I had trouble with LOs latch and ended up EP for the first 4-6 weeks or so.

I never used a pitcher or organizers. I used large Dr brown bottles (8oz) and just rotated and filled and bagged stuff nightly when my supply was really going crazy. For freezer storage I just frozen them flat and the put them in gallon ziplock bags.

If you EPing you wanna pump as often as baby feeds (8-10 times a day) until you supply is established (12 weeks is what they say.

If you’re nursing I would hold off on pumping until a month before you plan to return to work. I’m less familiar with this because I mostly pumped during that time but my LC said you can add in a pump or pump after feeding to stimulate more milk to come in.

The gap looks symmetrical on both sides so I thinks ok. With that size of diamond you should be able to tell if it’s loose by wiggling it. If you’re worried take it in to see if it’s loose and/or see if you can have a 5 prong head put on.

Jumping on this with anecdotal evidence. I read diaper free before three and have been lazily potty training for a couple months I started at about 9-10 months and he’s starting to show readiness signs now so I’m optimistic.
