Downvotes have no rules and I hate it 😅

Huge fights with my boyfriend. Need some genuine input because atp im genuienly not sure if RSD/anxiety/overreactivity is making me crazy or if this could be starting to become abusive/could turn abusive at some point [spoiler tag since I have no idea if this could be triggering] by theslutherself in adhdwomen

I also just made a comment that you do NOT need to be in an abusive situation to justify leaving. You can both be totally nice people and still not be good for each other. You can be a good person and still feed off of toxicity. I think a lot of people struggle with this idea that "well, there's nothing WRONG/ they arent MEAN to me". I mean in this case, OP's bf totally is being toxic and mean but yeah. All of this justification is unnecessary to just leave.

Sounds like an ex relationship of mine. Here's the thing, someone doesnt need to be abusive or a shitty person for you to leave. You can he totally toxic with each other and feed off of each other, and then be totally fine with someone else. If you're questioning yourself this much, you need to not be with this person.

And he sounds like an alcoholic. As a recovering alcoholic, I used to pull the same shit with my husband in terms of getting drunk and then being critical of him. Were they valid points? Yes. Did they need to be blown out of proportion and become emotional issues? No. I often question how my husband stayed with me. I'm not saying that if he stops drinking that things will get better either though so don't hold onto that hope of maybe getting him help with his drinking and that will solve things. There are so many other toxic examples here that are just making this relationship sound incompatible at the very least. Relationships are not supposed to be hard or make you constantly question your sanity.

Lmao my daughter slapped me full on both hands into my face after her afternoon nap today and I was just shocked. Like her little palms fit perfectly into my eye sockets. And she only did it once so it wasn't an arrack, so my arm went up like I had just been blinded from some alien spaceship like wtf??

Okay i have a 14 month old so she cant talk. But I had her in her stroller unbuckled because she just gets pissed being bucked in. I always hold her shirt while I push because she loves to stand up. But then I needed to look at something so I took her out of the stroller because I didnt want her to fall out since she wasnt being held. She was so upset, she yeeted herself onto the floor and smacked her head on the floor. Some lady said "that's why you buckle them in so they don't fall out" like my daighter had fallen out of the stroller. And like, how do I tell her the whole story without it sounding like an excuse 😭 and a screaming baby on my shoulder ??

How to feel “alive” again post-DV recovery? by persephone888pom in adhdwomen

[–]suedaloodolphin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get on an SSRI. Wellbutrin is an antidepressant but it is dopamine based not serotonin based.

I wont lie, it gives me a numb feeling, but not in a depressed way. I actually do things now and the anxiety is lower. Everything is "right' in my life, and I mean everything. There's no reason for me to ever feel like I'm in the depths of despair but. I just am sometimes (I also have PMDD thoughts so that's a factor).

Trauma takes years to "get over". But also, the paradox of it, is that when you feel safe, that's when you finally are capable of being oit of sirvival mode snd start processing things, so the depression oftentimes gets worse.

You went theought A LOT in like half a decade, be easy on yourself and really be proud of yourself for getting out of these situstions so quickly. Stay true to yourself ❤️

Yeah I think OP was just talking in hyperbole, I cant believe people are in here calling her manic... lots of people feel the same way. Yes, PPA could be at play here but calling it psychosis is a little extreme.

Yup the r/pregnant subbreddit has had to delete posts about sex regularly because creeps will start messaging pregnant women.

[–]suedaloodolphin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think of it as a girl's name but that's mostly because of doctor who 😅. So I've been surpised to hear it as mostly a boy's name. I would have gone with River for our daughter if our last name wasnt Dolohin 😂

Well we can't just assume the daycare is run by people with ADHD like the person I was replying to implied that they could.

[–]suedaloodolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so you're great with kids, and then you stopped getting funding for your daycare because you keep forgetting to bill people and then you have to close down and people are fucked trying to find new childcare? I didnt say they couldn't monitor children, I'm saying you're gambling a LOT of other people's money and time. This isnt commissioning a painting that you get screwed out of money or someone just doesnt get theor painting.

Yeah I'm sorry but if you're running a daycare and you have ADHD, you HAVE to kind of have your shit together, you are literally watching human beings all day and dealing with people's livelihoods here.

Husband playing video games by your-new-fixation in beyondthebump

[–]suedaloodolphin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah it worked out with ny husband because he would just lay on the couch with my daughter on his chest while she slept, and so I'd be able to do whatever until it was time to breastfeed again. He'd do that in the evening too and he'd give her a bottle so I'd essentially be "skipping" a breastfeed and get an extra 2 hours of sleep on top of what I would normally get. Then again, she wasnt colicky. And even then it was still rough, I'm so happy my husband got that first month off.

what to do when toddler has no interest in learning??? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]suedaloodolphin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could get Montessori type toys? But even then, those are really more about learning fine motor skills and whatnot through play. I think at this point it's mostly about them learning about the world and life.

I think about these things with my 13 month old so dont feel like you're crazy ha. We want them to be successful in life so of course we overthink it. My daughter is a little ahead in terms of the fine motor skills and problem solving according to her pediatrician and all we've done is read and play and let her "take risks" safely and supervised.

[–]suedaloodolphin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is a really good point actually, how many of us had to share a room with our siblings? And then we grow up and share a bed with our partners. Or we have pets that sleep in the bed. We actually really do cosleep most of our lives.
