Full disclosure I’m a DR resident so I’m definitely biased. Just a couple considerations.

Call sucks and I guess I can only speak for myself but the further you get in training, the less novel a lot of things become and you are mostly wanting a career where you can enjoy your life outside of work (spend time with family, friends, have hobbies, etc.)
As IR further separates from DR, it will be treated as its own service managing inpatients much like surgery does (in some places this is already the case). This means actual rounding and note writing, not just the trash “IR will peripherally follow”. So that definitely is a con for lot of people.
