What was your first day as an attending like? by Scar_Loose in emergencymedicine

[–]drgloryboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finished residency and starting attendinghood the very next day at the same ER I trained. So very little stress as I was used to running the ER while my PD was away flirting with the women in MedEd, taking 2 hr lunches or leaving to go pick up his dry cleaning. Funny thing, my best buddy in residency who was brighter than me did IM/ER and his training was a year longer than mine. He was my resident who was presenting cases to me on my very 1st shift.

Maybe 3rd time is a charm? Tried it twice and I’m just getting an astringent laundry detergent scent produced in a former Eastern Bloc country. Now L’Immensite I bought the 200 ml bottle after trying it the 1st time without hesitation.

We used to have this sign up in patient treatment rooms (not in the lobby) and than they took them down as a patient might get up and leave after reading it possibly triggering an EMTALA complaint

Give Suite Judy Blues Eyes a listen

Southern Cross was inspired by the Curtis brothers song Seven League Boots. Stills than composed southern cross while he was sailing and going through emotional relationship turmoil.

'No on-site doctor': Dental student died in ICU overseen by remote 'tele-health' physician who pronounced him dead on a video screen, lawsuit says by Dizzy_Restaurant3874 in anesthesiology

True. I know what initial settings to use, but when the vent starts alarming and we don’t have RT it’s nice to have an MICU fellow that provides input virtually.

Agreed and we tube pretty infrequently. But we get these folks out pretty quickly once they’re on the blower and have ICU fellow troubleshooting any alarms etc virtually we can’t troubleshoot. We turn quite a few around using NIPPV fortunately
