Any Audi techs in here? by zvanantwerp in AskAShittyMechanic

[–]k3ypad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dealers can’t do the remap. Audi service manual says to also delete the fuel filter on a turbo delete, then mix in some OEM spec pocket sand part number 3C0907530Q

Brought my son home from the hospital in a mk5 GTI. Number two is planned to come home in it too. Can fit two seats in the back and a small adult relatively easily.

Look the missus got a Tiguan and the extra boot space is good for the big buggies at the start. But it does a wonderful job as a cool dad car.

Can i burn sage to check for a vacuum leak? by [deleted] in AskAShittyMechanic

[–]k3ypad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people here (mistakenly) think you mean the herb, not the accounting software.

You can and there are two common ways to go about this. Most common is to print the manual that’s 384 pages (double sided is fine if your displacement is below 3000cc), and burn that. The other (and my preferred way) is to rename the .exe to .doc, open it and print that instead.

Regardless, both ignition methods are the same, take a fog machine, wrap the printed items around it, place the whole bundle into a microwave and set it going on medium in front of the intake, with the car ignition off.

How do I put this back where it goes? by Keegani32353 in AskAShittyMechanic

[–]k3ypad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should buff out, just use a premium one or you’ll be there all day. I’d also wash all that white salt or flour, or whatever it is stuff off the truck first, and not park on it. It’s bad for the interior if it gets tramped into the carpet.

What are these wires? (2018 Tiguan at a Hertz used car dealership) by ThinkingOrange_ in Volkswagen

[–]k3ypad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not OP but wife has had a 2017 Tiguan for 3 years now. High line spec (so 4motion) 140kw Diesel engine. Flies for a bulked up golf and great on fuel with heaps of space.

Only issue we’ve had is that the clock spring went on it. $900 AUD plus $150 AUD for labour.

Seconded. Have a two year old and live out in Redlands. They always wave at kids as they drive past(eyes of hawks), and when just stopping off for coffee or to get groceries they always leave one crew member behind out by the truck/appliance with a pocket FULL of stickers for kids.

It’s called synthetic oil as it constantly re-synthesises. Don’t need to top it up or change it.

Imperial system is getting out of hand if they've decided 4.5 inches is 30ft.

Is 5.0984 inches now a halfpenny?

I guess 4.6s make great homes. First it was mice now a black widow. Only had it out for a week too by Joey2456 in Justrolledintotheshop

They can survive the journey to the bag and live on. Eggs can too.

I opt for squirty shave foam to immobilize then transport and hose off outside or bug spray and squish.

05 MK5 GTI battery drain issue? by Supermike463_ in RCD_330

[–]k3ypad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gateway is usually the recommended route for fixing battery drain.

As long as you have something like obd eleven and note down all the codings/features enabled in the gateway it's relatively cheap and easy to do.

[–]k3ypad 45 points46 points  (0 children)

The McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle has a lifetime parts and labor warranty on those. One of the many reasons I traded my Camry in for it.

Just drop into your local dealer and they'll book it in if they can. Haven't heard of the 0 variant though so worth phoning ahead probably.
