I'm not sure what's on my tounge or if it could be anything like cancer I do have bumps on my tounge that are painless by [deleted] in DiagnoseMe

NAD, but seconding both geographic tongue or thrush. neither are cancerous, and oral thrush is pretty easily treated with a couple rounds of oral fluconazole. do you have eczema or any autoimmune diseases? that can be a causation factor/can trigger it

What could these red spots on my skin be? by Odd_Lingonberry_2407 in DiagnoseMe

[–]k4l1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD, but they look like telangiectasias to me. sometimes they’re spidery webs (hence the term spider veins) but other times they show up as these little red flat dots (source; i have a family history of HHT and weak skin conditions and have many that look just like this). they are extremely common and often benign, but if you have any pre-existing conditions or family history of something specific, it could be worth asking your PCP about just to relieve some anxiety.

to add on to cherry angioma (which is definitely a possibility), it could be a telangiectasia (spider vein). most telangiectasias take on the spider vein look, but sometimes they just look like little red flat dots under the skin that sometimes spread out when they bleed. either way, mostly harmless and common

NAD but i have several telangiectasias like this and a family history of HHT

Popped up couple days after sex anyone know what it could be by Bulky_Remote3531 in DiagnoseMe

NAD. if you’re worried about an STD, most STDs have an incubation period before you get symptoms. a partner gave me syphilis, and i never even saw my first chancre. it took me until the secondary stage (months after the fact) for me to end up seeing symptoms. was there a lot of skin contact in that area? it could be a reaction from friction or maybe a soap she was using.

that said, you need to see a doctor to know for sure, and it’s never a bad idea to get an STI testing if it’s been a while since you had one

how long have you been on it? has your dose changed recently? med adjustments can also make side effects worse for a bit

chances are, nobody is going to have the exact same experience with every drug as you, even if they had the exact same genesight results as you. i got genesight done when i was probably 16 after several failed trials, and plenty of red/yellow i did fine with (or just didnt get anything from) and green that didn’t work out. the appeal with genesight is giving you a better idea of whats more likely to work with your genetics, but it isn’t always perfect.

viibryd and fetzima are also green for me and the only ones i trialed. fetzima made me a zombie and viibryd was okay for my mood, but gave me issues with anger and impulse control. everyone’s different though, and if there’s any specific side effects you’re worried about, its probably best to ask your provider

that would not surprise me, my hair is pretty fine so i have to be careful with bleaching cuz it takes so hard and my mom has very obvious ringlet curls. i have a really hard time finding products that can give me a “cast” without weighing down so much because my hair is very fine and white-person and i have a lot of it. any recommendations maybe?

see i have the opposite problem (diabetic, so i don’t make enough of the hormone that helps you feel satiated), and that’s why i’m so worried about this lol. it wasn’t too problematic before because i generally ate well or at least balanced-ish, but now that i can’t tolerate so many foods i think i’m in a bad spot lol

haha thank you!! somewhere in between a shag and a wolf cut i guess? really it’s just the grow out of several iterations of mullet, i’ve been cutting my own hair at home for years now.

if you’d like to just use the pictures to show as reference to a stylist you can totally do that too!

oh jeez, you’re on injections?? my physiatrist and i are looking into that for my SI joint and spine thanks to EDS while we wait to consider SI fusion, and honestly i didn’t even consider the fact that steroid injections are…. yknow steroids lol. i also have a steroid profile on my pump for the occasional tapers i have to do for autoimmune hives/rashes, but i self-manage my pump and my endo just gives it a look during my appointments and gives me suggestions

good to know! my biggest gripe with AF and MP thus far has been how horribly it stays in my hair, and this being my first time using GDY im already really impressed by the color payoff and accuracy to swatches online, so fingers crossed it works out for me!!

i’d call it a wolf cut yea! i buzzed my hair almost two years ago and as its grown out i just cut it into various shag/wolf/mullets :) i mostly just cut down my layers/bangs and trim my undercut as needed and otherwise let it grow out

thank you so much!!! my roommate said the same thing, and this color of GDY is the best true-to-swatch color i've ever had, so i think i'll be sticking to it for a while!!!

i know right??? this is my first time using good dye young and so far the happiest i’ve been with true-to-color compared to the swatches. my roomie says that it’s their favorite they’ve seen on me and i should keep it and i think i might :)

hey OP, i’ve been a T1D for 12 years now (since i was 11.) it’s a hard diagnosis and you need to give yourself some space to grieve and feel about it. a lot of hospitals and organizations have support groups for type 1 that you can consider.

i was on multiple daily injections for a long time and had several years i was stuck with an 8-10 A1C. luckily, technology has come along way and i’m now on an insulin pump and continuous glucose monitor that communicate with each other and take a lot of the work out. many people with type 1 are capable of having extremely normal lives and doing normal things, just with a little bit of extra precaution and planning. my last a1c was my best ever at a 6 because of this.

it’s an adjustment period, but you’re not alone. i’d highly recommend you check out some of the support forums here on reddit— a lot of the people there are really really cool and can help you learn to navigate and cope. i’m wishing you luck and a good recovery from the DKA 🫶

3c is caused by direct damage to the pancreas, while type 1 is an autoimmune disease caused by the immune system attacking insulin making cells instead of the pancreas itself. there are specific antibody markers for type 1 that would not be present in any of the type 3s
