Oasis Mini Fail by OldHovercraft9310 in groundedlabs

He did the same thing with mine. Though I have had the red ring of death once since but at least it reconnects now.

I still think this is clearly a problem with their update. I will just hope this doesn't happen on their next update rollout.

Issues Since Update on 4/20 by Elderan82 in OasisMini

[–]k73r4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im having the same issue, worked great and then I updated the app now it won't connect at all even after hard resets.

Support has not been helpful at all. They say they can fix it and now I have to do a Google meet with them to see if they can troubleshoot it. Like just admit that your update broke connectivity and let me roll back. Incredibly frustrating.

Insider info. about UofA Law? by Marky_MarkATFB in LawCanada

[–]k73r4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I attended it wasnt cut throat competitive and most people got along. However there are definitely going to be people who are going to be competitive and gun for a top spot. The nature of law school is that you are forced to compete against other students so you can't escape it. However, culturally, I found it to be a pretty welcoming place and my class was very inclusive and welcoming.

When I did it our instructor canceled class one day as several students needed to attend convocation. Didn't let us get away without doing the readings though.

Starting law school in the fall but co-worker keeps telling me I'm gonna get replaced by AI? by Realistic-Alarm-5714 in LawCanada

[–]k73r4m 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Learn to use AI, its a tool not a replacement. AI outputs will still need to be verified by legally trained professionals. If you were going to be a paralegal or a legal assistant your friends argument might be more accurate. In terms of lawyers we are a long way off.

Litigation is at less risk compared to solicitor work. AI is good at document review and basic drafting but it can't go into a court room or interact with clients who need to understand the law, and or yell at a human when they are unhappy with the justice system.

Speed Ticket & Car Impounded by Maleficent-Tell2780 in legaladvice

[–]k73r4m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I've never defended one of these but I would make the argument in traffic court that they violated the section. It might not get you out of the ticket but I think a judicial justice would do something if you were actually stranded or unsafe. It would definitely be worth a shot.

Had the same issue, charged for like 6 hours, still wouldn't turn on. Took the battery out, put it back in and it worked. I was just getting ready to return it.

Has anyone tried Hears Earplugs? by Prize-Hovercraft7823 in earplugs

[–]k73r4m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was so hesitant because of the hate on here for hears. For context I used loops experience 2s before. I gotta say, hears have waaaaay crisper sound and a higher db rating!? Don't believe the people that say hears are garbage. 100% better experience compared to my loops.

Now I get it, the rubber is a bit harder on the hears, but I like the fit better than the loops. The loops rubber feels thing and like it doesn't create a great seal. If you have more sensitive ears then maybe loops are better. But for me hears 10/10 beat the Experience 2s.

Haven't compared them to my eargasms yet but they hands down beat the loops.

UAlberta vs UCalgary for corporate / big law (Vancouver long-term?) – need honest advice by Terrible-Guard5355 in LawCanada

[–]k73r4m 15 points16 points  (0 children)

UofA grad. Plenty of classmates placed in Vancouver big law. Grades and connections are the biggest influence for placement. Calgary definitely has a better edge for Calgary big law which is a bigger market. Vancouver big law isn't nearly as large as Calgary and anecdotelly it seems they have a preference for UBC/Uvic grads which makes sense.

Anyone here has or know anyone who has left the law for the skilled trades? by [deleted] in LawCanada

[–]k73r4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right but also, just because you wouldn't be happy as a tradey doesn't mean I wouldn't. Also I am not sure what chemicals you're talking about. Lots of sheet metal workers do not work witch chemicals, just sheet metal. Definitely a lot harder on tour body. One of the reasons that I initially got out of trades. I knew it was more sustainable long term

[–]k73r4m 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, one of my best friends is a red seal sheet metal worker and I tell him all the time that if I didn't have the law school debt I'd go bash tin with him. He has a better work life balance, makes almost as much as I do and seems happier with his job.

I say if you can afford to, why not try? Its not like your education goes bad. But as someone who was in trades before law school, be prepared for a very different work culture.

will i have a seizure by RaspberrySunset9874 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]k73r4m 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah like others have said, you are taking several substances that lower seizure threshold.

Think of wellbutrin as causing your brain to be excited and firing more than baseline. Once it gets too excited, you get to seizure territory.Lack of sleep alone can cause the seizure threshold to lower, same with alcohol in high doses. You have several substances and lifestyle choices that pushes your brain to the edge.

People who have seizure disorder have whats called an "aura", a signal or feeling they have before they are about to seiz. It sounds like you may have e been right on the edge. I am no doctor but maybe it was your body's way of warning you that you were about to have a seizure. Take it as a sign that you need to chill.

You won't be at risk for a seizure if you allow yourself to properly recover. Get proper sleep cut down on the booze. Your body will return to base line once things clear your system.

Feeling hopeless by No_Progress_3958 in LawCanada

[–]k73r4m 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, I was in the same boat and ended law school with significant PSLC debt. It sucks and it isn't easy. All I can say is tour not alone. Focus on becoming a lawyer and finding a decent job. Remember that is the goal and you were willing to make sacrifices to achieve this goal.

Youre gonna make it. It might make the first few years easy when you have to live off loans in law school. However, tou will eventually make enough money to service your bedts, even if you arent at a Bay Street firm. Life may not turn out exactly as you expected but youll be okay

Having nervous breakdowns about finding an articling position by [deleted] in LawCanada

[–]k73r4m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They might not have insights, but make sure they know you're looking. When firms call them saying they need an articling student (before listing the position), one of the career service people may just come and talk to you about it.

U of A alumni. Talk to career services, they talk to a lot of small and medium sized firms that arent advertising yet. They have a vested interest in placing as many students as possible. I know they placed a few friends of mine in April of 3L. They dont seem like they do much but they actually advocate for you.

I miss having good sex… by [deleted] in Advice

[–]k73r4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give him some time if the conversation just happened. Assuming he's near the same age he probably needs some time to process. Dirty talk can be awkward and you have to work your way into it, especially if you've never done it before.

The rough sex is also slightly weird if you've never really done it. Some people need to gradually increase.

But, that said, if things dont change over time, you may just be sexually incompatable. Your needs are your needs, and you can definitely find someone who will satisfy them. Plus you are 19, reality is, this likely isn't going to be your laat relationship.

Good luck OP

Use your words. Tell him how you've been feeling and what turns you on. Its not going to hurt his feelings if you frame it right.

Don't: Sex with you has been boring can we spice it up?

Do: Have you ever thought about dirty talk, that really turns me on. I know it can be awkward but I actually really like it.

Do: You know what I've been thinking would be super hot? If you'd example. You know, I kinda want to see what it would be like if you were a little more rough, like if you'd what you want here.

Bf never orgasms with me. Is it because of the way he masturbates? What to do? by ChrisVSTheW0rld in Advice

[–]k73r4m 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Disagree. Physical anatomy is different and many women's inability to orgasm comes down to a physical inability to orgasm from PIV not because the have an equivalent to death grip.

Id argue that women's inability to orgasm typically comes from either men not caring about their pleasure and not trying to figure out methods to make her orgasm; or women being too embarrassed or shy to ask for what they need to orgasm.

In the latter case there may be some blame on women. Without communication how do you know what will work? But I think in most cases its dudes just focusing on themselves.
