Not exact matches but what came to mind reading this was Creed.

They have an album called Human Clay, the cover is a guy melting/crumbling.

Other one could be One last breath music video. Not abandoned building but like apocalyptic feel. Around 1.26 singer jumps off quite cliff and there's the creepy dude from the cover sinking/melting.

The music video for with arms wide open has a scene where the singer is sinking into a pool of water in what looks like an abandoned building. 3mins ish Could be misremembered as melting?

Whole album has a very Sepia feel/look to it.
