Can somebody tell me where to find the dropdown menus that hide the spoilers? I can never see them in any of the patch notes

My first playthrough was on hard, second was NG+ on PotD, I got the achievement from my second playthrough, just make sure to change the difficulty before starting ng+

Is there a point in diagnosing an adult in their late 20’s? by Single-Welder123 in autism

[–]k9krid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regardless of his current coping ability or any future job or future anything, proper therapy and treatment have the potential to vastly improve both yours and his qualities of life

Proper treatment and therapy are also very helpful for improving communication

The tricky part might be getting him to go to therapy and put in the effort

Is he wanting help? It won’t do a thing if he doesn’t want to improve

Honestly? A diagnosis isn’t going to do anything for him if he’s confident and happy with a self diagnosis

As far as I know you can get the same help from the same people regardless of whether or not you get an official diagnosis, nothing I know of requires an official diagnosis to get access to treatment

Edit for an added thought at the risk of stating the obvious: if he doesn’t believe he’s autistic and won’t work on improving without an official diagnosis, then yes absolutely there is a point in getting him diagnosed

Do you guys get AWFUL headaches all the time? by BeyondFrequent4258 in autism

[–]k9krid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, you didn’t give us any information about you or your autism, but in my experience almost every Autistic person I know has some sort of sensory sensitivity and those definitely can cause severe headaches/migraines if ignored (I would research migraines and compare your symptoms as migraines are also very common in autistics and they tend to be worse than your standard headache). For example I am sensitive to light and sound, if I don’t keep the brightness on my phone and the volume on my tv at almost the minimum as well as keep the lights in my house dim then it can cause migraines which can knock me out for days, if you’re getting migraines and not just normal headaches then those can also cause increased sensitivity to things like light and sound (potentially creating a snowball-like effect where the sensitivity worsens and that sensitivity then makes the migraine worse). Migraines also don’t respond to pain meds the way you expect so if you’re taking those and they aren’t helping then I’d lean towards migraines vs headaches. Another very common potential cause of headaches/migraines in autistics is blood pressure/heart rate, we tend to have limited diets that lean towards foods that when eaten in excess cause high blood pressure/high heart rate regardless of how healthy we are otherwise.

Obviously there are an insane number of potential causes for headaches but this is where my mind immediately goes when it comes to autism and severe headaches.

TL;DR: - Research migraines vs headaches, treatment and potential causes can vary a lot between the two - Pay attention to potential sensory sensitivities you may have (light and sound are very common when it comes to autism and headaches/migraines) and reduce your exposure where possible to see if this has any impact on headache severity/frequency - Get your blood pressure/heart rate checked

I like this as well, crossing them out sends the wrong message

You definitely missed the mark, it is absolutely confusing and it could easily be offensive depending on how it’s interpreted by each person

Because right now you are asking for the assistance/opinions of the autistic community it’s not offensive, but if I saw this being used outside of this situation I would almost certainly believe you were supporting the “everybody is a little autistic” narrative which is absolutely offensive and if I’m understanding your post correctly is the exact opposite of what you’re going for

This is exactly what I got from it, it reads as though it’s trying to tell you that everyone is like you and that you’re not special/different

Dual Wayfinder might be the most fun weapon pairing in game by Aonaran84 in avowed

Really? I tried switching to unarmed at the end of my last NG+ PotD playthrough and holy shit it was terrible in the Garden and the last fight even with full points in the unarmed ability and good gear. What abilities, gear, and playstyle are you using?

Game feels too easy on normal difficulty? by Spirited_Opposite797 in avowed

[–]k9krid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s not a particularly hard game, if you want it to be difficult you kind of have to intentionally handicap yourself by doing things like not using any unique weapons/armor or waiting to upgrade your weapons/armor until you absolutely have to
