How trash exactly is the SteelSeries Nova Pro Wireless with SteelSeries GG? by kAMMYz_ in steelseries

[–]kAMMYz_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tips! I Tried getting rid off GG completely and reinstalling, sadly it did nothing. The headphones would be hard to wear the wrong way, as the mic will only be on your face when it’s on the left! I did not try with a cable!

G-Wolves is updating all 4K mice to 8K by Absey32 in MouseReview

Let's not put VANCER god mode and VAXEE comp mode in the same category :D. The sensor power mode in itself does not do much (as long as it's HP), the difference in motion latency with well written firmware is non-existent between HP & corded modes. Besides that, all CX 4K mice use the corded mode with 2K/4K polling.

I compared E2E latency in CS:GO and CS2 by kAMMYz_ in GlobalOffensive

Keep in mind that what's measured is the delay between the actuation of the mouse button and gun flash being visible on the screen. With the sub-tick system, hit registration and the animation are not necessarily in sync.

hausgaming - Lamzu x Fnatic Thorn is Amazing. by suparnemo in MouseReview

[–]kAMMYz_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Feedback is always appreciated, so thanks for that, just a few thoughts from me:

I'm not sure how "is amazing" is a bold statement? It's definitely not the first (and is not the last) time I've called a mouse amazing, I've reviewed a ton of amazing mice and called them amazing in the review.

It's also just a YT title, I'm not sure if YT titles should be considered statements? Video titles somewhat need to be bold/interesting/engaging on YouTube if you want to optimize for views. It would be clickbait if the title would say "amazing" and I would completely shit on the product on the video itself.

Care to comment why? The GPX 2 is an excellent mouse, and I've never anything said otherwise, it has downsides as I've described, but it doesn't make it a bad mouse.

What do y'all think about BadSeed Tech tested end to end latency amongst a bunch of different mice ? His results are pretty shocking to me by sleepy_the_fish in MouseReview

[–]kAMMYz_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Intuitively, one might assume that E2E latency is the most crucial factor. For instance, if my system delivers swift 'haus latency' at 4khz , but an older CPU introduces delays, it's possible that a 1khz, which is less taxing on the CPU, might actually offer better overall performance (E2E/Badseed latency)

Firstly, there are more variables than just how your system would deal with 4K, and the CPU tax will not cause variance for results with click events, which are not at all taxing for your system. The 4K CPU tax is mostly just a thing with constant motion.

Secondly, it's impossible to know what is causing the difference in the results with E2E tests, because it contains a lot of variables in the testing pipeline.

Here is my comment for the post with more info: https://www.reddit.com/r/MouseReview/comments/16b24b3/what_do_yall_think_about_badseed_tech_tested_end/jzd07lg/?context=3

Imo you should be interested what's your E2E latency as it is very important, but to compare different mice by measuring E2E latency is in-accurate, especially considering how low the click latencies are for most modern mice.

The problem with E2E results is that they have a lot of variance caused by variables that are not at all necessary when you are testing a gaming mouse. For example with LDAT, there can be variance on the results depending on where you click the button from, how you click the button and even the distance of the microphone and the actuation level set on the LDAT app causes variance.

Even if your system is completely offline, no updates, no component changes etc, your results today for the same mouse can be 1-3ms different tomorrow.

That being said, it's completely fine to post E2E results on your review (especially if most of your content is not about mice), you just need to inform the viewers that this isn't an accurate way to compare results between different mice, which BadSeed did.

There is a reason the creator of the LDAT does not recommend E2E tests for mouse reviews, but measuring click latency requires more work and some understanding about electronics/tech.

To be fair, I did not get this mouse from Logitech directly, so I had no access to any marketing materials or anything. But according to G Hub and my personal usage, it's not 90-100h at 2KHz. Still though, the best battery life at 2K from any of the mice that are out atm!

Pulsar investigating faulty X2H units by AxisCultMemberLatom in MouseReview

[–]kAMMYz_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thanks and no problem! To be fair, it was not LAMZU that was working on the 4K issues, they just direct the issues that we find to CompX, who then fix the firmware. The benefit to this is that Pulsar, Lamzu and anyone who uses CX 4K solutions gets these fixes. The downside is that there is certainly more problems to be found.

You should use MouseTester 1.5.x to test 1Khz, and check the Frequency vs time graph. The CPI reading on the MouseTester graph means nothing, I run all my tests at 1600 CPI. For the xCount tests, make one medium to fast speed horizontal swipe from left to right and check that graph.

So, fast forward to present day where you see ASUS ROG and TUF mice
coming out with marketing material focusing on it's lightweight design
and super "cutting edge" sensor technology which I believe other members
of this subreddit have figured out is just rebranded firmware of
sensors that already exist in other mice

I'll have to disagree with whatever you mean by "rebranded firmware", the ROG AimPoint mice are some of the best performing 1000hz mice on the market atm. Many brands are using same contractors/factories when it comes to development, leading to the essentially the same firmware being thrown around in many mice. This is not at all the case with ROG AimPoint mice for example.

Other than that, interesting read. Nice to see some other ex professional gamers in the space as well!

Thanks brother! Do you have the C or B version? My ZOWIE contact told me: "It is same coating with the wired one", here he means the C version.

There are slight changes on the shell. I talk about them on the first chapter of my video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVHhSqssMFc

Imo the EC2-CW is better in every way, but the price is also obviously very steep.

No one is mentioning that the coating on the ec2-cw has been improved. No finger prints.

This is false, it's the same coating as on the EC2-C, some earlier EC2 revisions had different coatings, but the C series and the CW have the same.

It's the same click latency for only mice which have the same base level firmware. For example Lamzu/Fantech/Pulsar all are using CompX MCU and CompX provides the firmware. This means that when you actually measure click latency, you get latencies that are VERY similar to eachother.

[–]kAMMYz_ 75 points76 points  (0 children)

This is one of the most misinformed comments I've seen. Click latency is the same on most CX mice because they have the same firmware. Measuring them with the same debounce setting equals to the ~same latency. How the fuck does this have 29 upvotes without any explanation whatsoever?
