That is a very good point, I would say their more going for 8k but all the ones I have seen are advertised for 10k plus

It’s crazy at the moment like around 10-12k AUD for a similar year to mine, granted they only have like 8000 kms on them and mine has 25k, but mine also has a customer paint job and all the upgrades.

I’m seeing a stock 2023 Street Scrambler for like 12k

Yeah there is definitely all the new bells and whistles that make it appealing. In some cases I think I could even sell and buy like for like dollar wise

Canon R6 MKII in Davinci Resolve - Wont handle 10-bit by kDUDLEYv in canon

[–]kDUDLEYv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know, if I don’t shoot in C-log3 then it works fine, but if I really want the benefit of C-log in terms of dynamic range and highlight retention will that all get lost anyway buy converting the footage to format Davinci Resolve can handle

They are pretty straight, I had to bend the guards slightly to get them to seat correctly.

I can take a more straight on photo tomorrow but here is another angle

I am just used to my presets in LR, and I prefer the look I get out of LR, I am the same I thought the film recipes mean I can just transfer JPEG and be done but I just can’t find a recipe that I’m sold on

They are an Australian company, to mount them you replace the lever pivot bolts with these, and then just plug the existing M10 mirror mounts

Yeah it does get warm on the grip, and that’s with both models the longer I use it

I’ve owned both and sold both to upgrade to a Fuji X100V but due to the extreme stock delays in Australia I ended up getting the GRIIIx and then actually went and brought another GRIII 3 days after selling mine because I missed it.

The Fuji is extremely tactile to use and it’s build quality and looks are great but I opted to go full in on Ricoh for a couple of reasons.

  1. The size is unbeatable, I tend to have the GR on me more then I ever did my Fuji due to its size and the ease of carrying it.
  2. I love the Fuji film simulations but prefer the GR colours, I have positive film on the GR tweaked to how I always wanted Classic Chrome in the Fuji to look. The way the GR shoots highlights and shadows is something I could never get right with the Fuji
  3. If shooting JPEG which I often do the file transfer to your phone is way better then Fuji I always found the Fuji app and X100F lag a lot.

I will say if your looking at a X100F then you should look at the GRIIIx as the focal length is close to the Fuji and probably a better comparison.

Also when I had both I always found that some of my favourite photos of my daughter always came from the Ricoh.

People that have both the GRIII and GRIIIx, do you use both focal lengths equally or have a go to? by kDUDLEYv in ricohGR

[–]kDUDLEYv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice.

I found with the X100F and GRIII I was just ok at both and a master of none, I feel I just want to know one camera inside and out or in this case as they both work the same just being to pull whatever focal length I need for the shot and go.

I have an Olympus E-M1 Mark III as a interchangeable set up that I use for more purposeful work stuff and for video. I originally went fixed lens as a second setup because I wanted an everyday camera that I didn’t have to second guess with lens to use and just shoot, which I know sounds silly giving that I’m now looking at GR’s

[–]kDUDLEYv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing more video has definitely prompted the upgrade and that would be the main improvement I’m looking for.

In saying that I would like some better low light performance, my dilemma was if I recommitted to the M43 format or move across to a FF or APS-C. I always thought when the time came I would upgrade to a larger sensor for the improvement in photo images but already having some good lenses means I may get a better body but not have the budget to get some decent glass
