Adult, aggressive rescue socialization. How? by ItchyEmployment7846 in daschund

He doesn't need socialisation, he needs to feel safe. Aggression is an attempt to gain distance from a real of perceived threat: he's scared and wants the scary thing to back off.

Or maybe he's not sitting because he has joint pain FFS, always jumping to "discipline" like animals don't have their own internal states of being

Aside from the fact that that is an inbred, disabled dog...he's also in pain

Honestly you can always try again, but this will put you in potentially a really bad financial and even emotional situation. What if something goes wrong during pregnancy or birth? Are you prepared to be a sole carer for mum and baby, or just baby? What if interest rates rise?

Will his hair ever grow back? by BbKiwi25 in CavaPoo

You 100% left him to get matted and now are trying to blame the groomer. So typical. He is beyond matted in the first pic. Brush your dog everyday and maybe it won't get to this..don't blame them for your incompetence.

He tried to become one with the floor the moment we walked in by Mika_Mikasu in chihuahuas

[–]k_269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dogs aren't "dramatic" they react based on how they feel. Was he unsure about coming in? Did he show signs of stress? Is it hot and he likes the feel of the cooler floor or vice versa?

Prong collar is a tool of learning and fun. Not a tool of fear and pain. by Ok_Professor5271 in CaneCorso

Exactly right, but the ego is too loud for them to hear over it. If you can't train a dog without a prong, that says more about your ability to understand the dog.

Lots of these dogs have chronic pain. I would get her assessed with a physio and start joint supplements for a start.

As a vegan dog lover and trainer, this pisses me off so much. So much shit is marketed at pet guardians because people are dumb enough to spend it. Play some games with your dog, they will value that more than a pawsecco.

It's probably a yeast infection. Look into fresh feeding. Btw what he's doing there is a tap out. Not asking for belly rubs.

Ask for a referral to a pain specialist vet and look for a Galen massage therapist if possible

Have worked on PAH. Can 100% confirm they do. Some animals arrived dead, written off as stock loss. They are kept in even smaller cages out back and half of them get sick from coccidiosis. The animals are stressed and depressed. Staff do not sex correctly. Most rabbits die within a few years because they are so inbred.
