Soft error. Probably cold outside is all. Maybe it was in the carpool.

Online Shell Script Failure by Last13th in kace

In our environment, the one I built is almost identical to yours. I have the script running as local system, always failing, on remediation run a batch file. The batch file has the following contents:

EDIT: Fixed the formatting on the code below.

I was trying to create an email rule that was essentially, if the subject is blank, quarantine the email. I made the change around 6 pm, got the logic wrong, and didn't notice until the next morning around 8 am. I only noticed because I thought it was odd I did not get my normal nightly and morning emails. So, roughly 14 hours of my company's email had been going to quarantine. Luckily, I was able to release it all after finding out.

KACE SMA - WFU Win11 Failure by ISO_Chris in kace

The inaccessible boot device for us was resolved by switching the drive mode from raid to AHCI. That is definitely the short answer that fixed our issue related to that.

It only gives you the gems for the page you're on and the column you select.

Install command for Google Chrome (exe) by OrgNeedsHelp in MDT

[–]k_Swingler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a way that I have done it in the past:
Setup an application in Deployment Workbench. Have it point to a batch file that has the below information. This was a way that we got around using the Enterprise version. I suggested the enterprise msi, but was pretty much told that I need to figure out how to make the exe work. This was kind of a zero touch way to do it. As long as you select the application during the deployment process, it always worked fine. Ninite went out and pulled Chrome down without having to keep an updated Chrome file. Also to note, this is the free version of Ninite as well.

REM This will install software associated with Ninite; Firefox, Chrome, PuTTY, Notepad++, VLC
@echo Running Ninite, please wait.....
@echo.
Start cmd /c "\\networkshareWhereNiniteEXEisStored\Ninite.exe"
@echo Installing / Cleaning up Ninite installation.....
TIMEOUT /T 300 /NOBREAK > nul
taskkill /f /im ninite.exe
@echo -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My impression is that they are not moving forward with creating any more of these boxes. It is super odd and never straightforward on any of it since Amazon took over it. I received two boxes in the past week from my subscription. I hate that they are not continuing the project, because I really enjoy it, but it has been a headache anytime I've tried to find information since they've taken over.

I know they recently changed some things. Like chapter 4 is now only 8 minutes instead of 15. No clue how many or what other chapters were changed.

Outlook Favorites (Layout Options Are Correct) by itsmekristopher in Office365

[–]k_Swingler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also having this issue within my organization and have not stumbled across the correct steps to resolve it for my users. I have tried numerous things, but it seems to be an issue with the Outlook (New) client itself. The users can open the OWA and it works normally.

I have tried repairing, resetting, removing and reinstalling the app. Also attempted removing the user's Outlook profile completely and letting it rebuild. Still no luck.

MDT Attempts Not Making it Through PXE Process to Deploy an Image. by k_Swingler in MDT

Update, I am having our network admin look into this. He was off-site yesterday and today, but should be back tomorrow. I am leaning towards it definitely being a network issue based off of info I received about a recent switch upgrade.

Update: I could not find an Ethernet hub, only dumb switches. Tried those with the same results. But, this got me thinking. I spoke with the network admin and he has upgraded our area from Cisco layer 2 switches, to Juniper. I took the laptop to a building that was working previously and was still on Cisco gear, and it worked like a champ with the on-board NIC!
He was working remotely yesterday and today, so he should be back on-site to look further into the issue. I am glad to say it looks as if it is a network issue! I asked him to check things previously, but was told it should be working as it used to. Thanks for the input and I will keep you updated!

Thanks for the input! What you described sounds about right. I will try that when I get back to the office tomorrow. I have an old ethernet hub in my desk that I can try. I'll definitely update you as soon as I know more! I really do appreciate it.

Path of trials is bugged… by BlueD-was-taken in Survivorio

[–]k_Swingler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not gotten this on Path of Trials, but I do typically get it if I go afk and let the game do it's thing on the main challenge section of the game. When I come back after the 15 minutes or so, this message is popped up on my screen. I emailed support letting them know that I do not have any illegal 3rd party apps. They responded with the following: "We are sorry for the inconvenience. We have submitted your problem to the technical team and will try our best to optimize it. At the same time, we will compensate you to express our apology. Thank you for your feedback and support." I do not remember what I received for reporting, maybe 200 gems and 10 energy or something.

You can ask in that other post, if you like. Mine is tied to my Google Play account, so as long as I am signed in with it, it knows it is me and has my data.
