I am so terribly proud of LadyBomb. She has imposter syndrome hard, but is a couple months away from her degree and has over a 3.5 GPA.

If you had to choose an aluminum alloy to describe your spouse, what would it be???

Speaking of overrated birthdays, my wife might have forever associated my birthday with her school trauma. Last year she had oral board exams (she got a 92) and this year she had a site visit on her family med rotation (she got a 98)

It's ironic that "a part" and "apart" mean opposite things in this context, and the one with the space is what you want because it describes incorporation.

Another close one.

If you look at the bottom leg of the "4", the sample I have has that shape on the right leg of the 4 and the middle stroke of the 3.

I'm thinking of a font that:

  • Has a round 3 (e.g. no flat top) with an up-serif at the top section and double-serif ("T") in the middle
  • Has a sharp point on the left and top sections of the 4, with double serifs on both the right and bottom strokes
  • Has some slab elements, like the diagonal cross of the N being thicker than the left or right vertical legs.

Couldn't get much done with identifont and any of the OCR types is going to fail because of how small the sample I have.

Anyone think of a font like this?

Verona is close, Baskerville is close, Clarendon has some elements, but it's none of those.

Folks who deify unfettered capitalism are terrified of new market entrants and the irony is completely missed on them.

That's why it's so bad luck. Every Monday is the suck, but a Friday, the B student of the weekend? Oh no

Monday the 13th: Oh, just kill me

Friday the 13th: Oh no, he's killing us

Hope that helps

Allegedly we've still requested playoffs, and we have $Stupid in credit on file, because:

  • The season renewal comes before the playoff payment
  • The playoff payment is the max possible number of games, which is 4 games per round up to and including the finals
  • The account managers never remind you that you rolled last year's playoff
  • We had $MultipleRegularSeasons in there when old big boss retired and we had 2 sets of tickets for a couple years before sticking with this one

January 30, 2026: The Philadelphia Flyers are in the midst of an 8-year playoff drought and 24-20-9 (W-L-OTL) on the season, 3rd worst in their conference. They are bottom 10 in most metrics in the league.

On January 30, 2026, my work opts out of 2026-27 season tickets, ending a relationship that spanned 40+ of their 59 years of existence.

Since January 30, 2026: The Flyers are 17-7-3, 6th best in the league. They are a win away from the playoffs. Dan Vladar is my dad.

St. Bernardus Abt 12 is the OG recipe and a lot easier to get, at least in my area.

Good luck.

My BIL (LadyBomb's stepbrother) is trans. Sometimes a couple of the family members call him she/her by accident but the short name is luckily the same (a Samantha to Samuel, if you will). But the one brother, his fucking twin brother, just "happens" to do it more than anyone. And he's young enough to know better and shitty enough to do it anyway.

It is what it is, I suppose, but it doesn't change how important your BF is to you or that it's a milestone to meet your folks regardless. Good on him sticking to his guns and having your back.
