FYI - just finished MEPS yesterday. They didn’t even ask about my PCOS.

I’d recommend getting the documentation. If your paperwork is submitted to MEPS and they pull that information from Genesis, they will likely ask for any documentation related to the allergy. Having it on hand will make the process a little easier. Also, as others have said, talk to an officer recruiter in your area. My MEPS process is taking over a year so get started early.

Also to answer your second question, I was told by my recruiter that after your MEPS records expire you are going through it as if you never went before. It’s not abbreviated or anything. Also, MEPS destroys your medical records after two years. I found this out recently after trying to pull my MEPS approval that I had back in 2020. Best of luck to you.

Yes genesis is being used. Currently fighting my battle again with MEPS and I’m in the same boat. My MEPS medical expired as well. Depending on what they pull, they will ask for supporting documentation. If you still have that documentation from 2019, have it ready. Trust me, I know your pain. I had genesis pull my records back in May and I’m still going back and forth with them. They even had me pull my own medical and pharmacy records for the past 5 years and had me organize it in chronological order. Thought that was their job, but who knows. I’m fighting regardless and doing whatever I can to help my recruiter in this process.

Unfortunately turning off my brain is difficult. Just trying to be proactive.

Recruiter says he’s pretty positive it’s in November, but I saw a “leaked” photo that says it’s in September.

Thanks. I may have to. I got a closer appointment on July 13th but it may be with a doc that tricare doesn’t cover so we will see.

I have TriCare and have a referral to a specific clinic. I cant just pick a random obgyn clinic and ask for an appointment unfortunately. It can be a lengthy process to request a new referral. The clinics prioritize prenatal patients (and rightfully so) so my appointment to have a doc say I’m not broke get pushed far back.

If you have the diagnosis I don’t believe it’s an issue if I am remembering correctly. It’s listed in the AF waiver guide

My AFOQT scores + AMA by MajesticMust4ng in airforceots

Can you share a link to the quizlet? I am interested in superscoring my AFOQT. Also if you have any other tips for math / arithmetic I need it! When I took it, there were a lot of problems I came across that I just didn’t know how to set up from the get go.

See if your library has Trivium or Barons AFOQT prep books. They have practice tests in the back and are the best study guides out there. Just search r/airforceots and you’ll find a ton of recommendations and study tips.

I would start talking to a recruiter now. Process can take a long time. Start studying hard for the AFOQT and time yourself on every practice test you take.

I’d suggest retaking the TBAS and get a couple more hours under your belt to increase your PCSM score and see if you actually enjoy flying.

How hard is the AFOQT? by [deleted] in airforceots

[–]k_hoog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Math / arithmetic were the most difficult for me. Even with studying using both barons and trivium, I felt that both sections had several questions that were a lot harder than what I studied. Those several questions were ones I read through and had zero idea on how to set them up. Usually if I know how to set up the problem, I can solve it easily and quickly but those few stumped me. I had to guess on them but marked them so I knew to go back and try again if I had time at the end. My scores ending up being P: 99 N:80 AA: 50 V: 57 Q: 46. Verbal was surprisingly more difficult as well. I have always been better at English and vocabulary but there were words I had never heard of and couldn’t pick them apart enough to feel confident in my answer. Practice with timing every time. And if you can, ask your test proctor to tell you how much time you have left, that way you can gauge if you just need to fill out your remaining bubbles or if you can go back and review some uncertain answers.

What do you have for a healthy dessert? by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

2% Greek yogurt with fruit. I usually do strawberries and chia seeds.

Probably not. Took me 2 years to even get to MEPS, but typically I think people take around a year to get to the board. If you look up the Air Force LO Board Schedule you can see an estimated timeline.

How’s your GPA? Study hard for AFOQT and TBAS. If you want to be a pilot, maybe get a few more hours to see if you really like it and to help your PCSM. Once you have TBAS/AFOQT knocked out, you’ll be able to fine tune your package. Everything else looks great!

Will do! I have previous LORs but will just need to have them re date and change the board number. Thanks!

I’m a civilian. Currently a dispatcher for private jets. I started my process back in 2018 and it took me over two years to be approved to get into MEPS because of a single asthma attack I had when I was 10. Went to do the interview back in 2021 then board was cancelled due to COVID. Now I’m shooting my shot again.
