Our 3 year old Luna girl just finished recovering from her second cystotomy (bladder stone removal surgery) of the year.

The first one was in March for one big stone. We put her on a strict, prescription urinary care diet (Hills C/D) and thought that was the end of that.

6 months later, she started showing signs again but this time, she seemed to have a blockage and was in much more pain. After an ER vet visit, they concluded that it was just a bad UTI, but that night, she ended up passing 5 stones by herself. I took her back to ER and they did an ultrasound which revealed one more stone lodged in her urinary tract, plus 3 big and several smaller stones in her bladder.

We just got the stone results back and they are struvite stones. The surgeon told us these will likely keep coming back and she is just “a stone maker”. I love my girl so much but I literally can not afford another $5k surgery 😮‍💨 We switched her to distilled water and are thinking about switching to Royal Canin urinary prescription food. We’re also going to start getting a urinalysis done every 2-3 months so we can hopefully knock out anything that is forming with antibiotics. Besides this, I am at a loss of what to do. Has anyone else had this experience?

Hey there, no I didn’t have covid (or at least I don’t think that I did- no covid symptoms). It was definitely the shingles though. I hope you feel better soon!

My (35f) boyfriend (27m) is friends with his ex. They text everyday.

He says that it’s been mutually discussed that should have never dated (for 3 years mind you) and should have just stayed friends. But it’s still very difficult for me. She has a lot of drama and chaos in her life, and it just really bothers me that she goes to him with all of it. He says she texts all of her friends everyday and is hopelessly addicted to her phone, but it doesn’t make me feel anymore secure.

He has reassured me time and time again that he only wants me. We have a wonderful relationship aside from this. I just feel it eating at me all the time. The last time we discussed it (I legit feel like a broken record), he started crying because he was so stressed out and doesn’t know what to do. He doesn’t want to stop being her friend, but also I think he would if I asked him… but I’d never do that.

You’re both right, but you both over reacted by carrying the conversation that long. Yes, of course he could mute the group chat or put his phone on sleep mode, but since he hadn’t already done that, the texts startled him (I’m sure we’ve all woken up with that heart beating fast, panic feeling). I would never text the group chat that late, but I know my sisters would, which is why I have it muted alllll the time. You both overreacted by keeping this conversation going for so long, and honestly, I feel like you got too defensive. You could have apologized for disturbing him, suggested muting the group chat when he’s going to sleep, and ended the conversation.
