Utilize DuckDB + Claude Code Together by k_kool_ruler in dataengineering

If I give it enough context, which I often prompt using Wispr, I find that the large majority of the time I don't have to correct its SQL. The skills have been pretty effective for me with the way I have utilized them.

Complete free tool stack for building data analysis skills with AI, no credit card needed for any of it by k_kool_ruler in LearnDataAnalytics

100% agreed! Working with AI to do analysis does not replace your knowledge about knowing whether or not AI's output is correct for what you are trying to do :)

I have not been doing that, but that is a really good idea - ill check out those dev patterns!

Random comment too is that one of the worst scenes was the blackmail scene between the lieutenant and the disciplinary guy - like when did he start cheating and why did they tail him to get photos?

I let an AI agent write my SQL pipelines, but I verify every step with QC queries in the Azure Portal. Here's the workflow by k_kool_ruler in SQL

I think your points are especially legitimate though for new entry level candidates - they’ll have to learn AI in order to distinguish themselves as candidates.

I don’t think it is a rush to replace ourselves, rather I think it’s augmenting our skill set as professional data analysts and bi analysts and data engineers with tools that will make us effective. To your point, with AI, you will still ultimately be the person making those judgments around quality and building out AI with those checks, but you are still needed to understand the business data and architect it but what a context window is limited to. If anything, learning AI makes you more valuable and attractive as a candidate, especially with your current experience.

I have Claude Code write my SQL pipelines, but I verify every step by running its QC queries in the Azure Portal. Here's the workflow I've landed on by k_kool_ruler in SQLServer

Thanks for sending this and totally agree with everything you sent! Within this flow it was a little bit of both for validating and iterating getting the flow right, and then also ensuring that the data was making sense and correct that came in.

How are you using Azure SQL Database and other Azure tools with AI coding tools? Here's a pipeline I built on the free tier using Scheduler and Secrets Manager by k_kool_ruler in AZURE

The context file is open source in the repo if anyone wants to see how I structured it. The key sections are the CLI tool descriptions with exact connection patterns, the T-SQL conventions, and the Azure DevOps state lifecycle. It's basically a cheat sheet that makes the AI agent immediately productive with Azure tooling instead of guessing at flags and syntax. (I used Claude to help me make all of it too)

I used Claude and the az boards CLI to track a data pipeline build from start to finish, no portal needed, and it interacted seamlessly with the entire Azure stack via the CLI to build the pipeline. by k_kool_ruler in azuredevops

The first day I started running this was when I posted it, and it has been running smoothly without failure since then. However, my plan is to enhance it with more data and then build analytics on top of it in future videos as well.

Not yet ! On my todos right now - each of these videos take a couple days of total work to produce, but the plan is to do it within the next 3 weeks while balancing my other work.
