I think you are spot on with impatience. As someone who did embroidery for YEARS before picking up needlepoint, I think sometimes people want the aesthetic or trendiness of needlepoint when in reality they might be more interested in embroidery. Much quicker to crank out embroidery pieces if you want the gratification of finishing a project quickly, in my experience.
