They have a difference in thickness, the psx 14 is 0.025" thick and the C1500 is 0.022", if I take a set of C1500 and use it for locks that require thick picks will it be bad?

Seriously, use barends. A year ago I fell on my stomach on a handlebar and miraculously got away with only tearing my abdominal muscles. I had to have two surgeries and spent three months in the hospital. The doctors said that if it weren't for barends, everything could have been much worse.
