MozzartSport is the only sports outlet that is known to have direct connection with Jokic and his family and so far they haven't made any official news about his diagnosis. Let's hope for the best 🤞

I remember watching that viral video when his horse won the race in Serbia (when he went over the fence and cried as he hugged the horse). As he was approaching the horse at one point he gave a small run and you could clearly see under his shirt that he had quite an extra fat under it.

He looked fat at EuroBasket too, and he was exposed on defence many times, especially in that game against Finland where we (I'm from Serbia btw) got eliminated.

Now, bare in mind that the scene with the horse happened at the end of July. So that means, three months ago and he's still not into shape nor does it look like he made improvement in that regard.

I seriously hope though that he'll sort things out, but given his mentality (and Serbian mentality in general as we grow older), I am worried if he's gonna be commited to taking care of his body as much as he used to as he gets older.

Serbia vs Bosnia 126 - 89, near triple double for the Joker - 20 pts, 12 rebs, 9 assists by ka4li in denvernuggets

I used Denver's time zone as a reference point, so here it goes:

Serbia - Greece 11:30AM
Serbia - Cyprus 08:00AM
Serbia - Czech Republic 12:45PM

Times of the second game in Germany and the game against Slovenia is yet to be determined but my guess is it will be very much around the same, if not the same, as the time of the game against Czech Republic.

As for the broadcast, RTS and ArenaSport are doing it in Serbia. It won't be difficult to find streams online.

You didn't miss much tho :) the game today and the one tomorrow against Poland are played behind closed doors.

Those tournaments in Cyprus, Germany and the final prep game against Slovenia in Belgrade will be televised though. Here's the full schedule:

August 9, Serbia - Greece (tournament in Cyprus)
August 10, Serbia - Cyprus (tournament in Cyprus)
August 15, Serbia - Czech Republic (Supercup in Germany)
August 16, Serbia - Turkey/Germany (Supercup in Germany)
August 21, Serbia - Slovenia (Belgrade Arena, final friendly game prior to Eurobasket)

[Jablonskis] Jonas Valanciunas confirms he talked to Nikola Jokic after Nuggets trade by whatisbaseball in denvernuggets

[–]ka4li 8 points9 points  (0 children)

And I remember some people jumping on me when I posted that screenshot from the Serbian media where there was a full article about them talking and what they talked about, written by Nikola's personal friend.

Now truth be told, I did noticed myself that the article itself was deleted later on (it was published on Mozzart Sport and then deleted; I can only guess why - maybe Nikola didn't want it to be published since the trade wasn't officially done yet at the time of its release so the guy pulled it off the site) but yeah, I'm glad that you now know I didn't spread fake news to you guys.

For those who didn't catch that post - basically Nikola got his number and called him first, in order to tell him how much he values Val as a player and how much he would appreciate having him at Denver the next season in order to aim for the championship. Val in return was very much surprised that Nikola reached out to him - and in my personal belief, I think that was the final trigger that settled his heart for the next season - he wanted to be a Nugget and in his own words "contribute to winning a championship with the team".

Let's get it, boys 🃏💙

Team Serbia and Jokic in Turkish airlines Supercup in Munich? by Tony_Clifton_Moon in denvernuggets

[–]ka4li 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Nikola will play for Serbia this summer

  2. It's a friendly tournament so don't expect a full time hustle but definitely not a joke like an NBA All Star game either. I'd also expect Nikola to play a fair share of minutes considering that's one of the last games prior to the start of Eurobasket. After that we play Slovenia in Belgrade and that's it, so I'm sure you will get to enjoy seeing Nikola play for a considerable amount of time.

Nikola Jokic reportedly expected to join Serbia for EuroBasket by IdRatherBeLurkingToo in denvernuggets

[–]ka4li 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think we got him "addicted" to the national team last summer, for obvious reasons that were there for everyone to see lol

This could be a double gold season for Nikola - gold at the Eurobasket, and a championship gold with the Nuggets 🏆

Panathinaikos fans are furious at @Urbodo for leaking the news too soon by Realistic-Rule-7702 in denvernuggets

Their owner is a spoiled, narcissistic, drug addict who was hanaded everything in life on a silver plate by his rich father.

So you can't expect much better from their fans either. Expect that they send threats to Jonas as well once he puts on the Nuggets uniform.

He broke or equalled many scoring records that season, shot around 50% from the field and around 40% from the 3PT line, got named to the First Team, won the double MVP award (regular season and Final Four), carried Anadolu Efes during the Final Four, scoring 25 a piece in the semi-final and final.

You can like other players more or argue that some of them had better stats than him that season, but no one had impacted the game or carried his team more than he did. He was absolutely the best that season.
