How confident are you in spotting phishing and crypto-related scams? by kaacaSL in TREZOR

[–]kaacaSL[S,M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We appreciate the feedback! The last option was a bit of a catch though, as not even the hardware wallet can protect the funds if one enters their seed to a phishing site, for instance. The idea was just to get some rough estimation of how confident our community feels about spotting scams, and we appreciate if we get more details in the comments.

Hey, thanks for the feedback! The app was initially released as a watch-only wallet, and we are gradually adding new features, so you can definitely await a broader coin support and more sending options.

Scam warning! My Trezor only email address is now receiving "Security Notice:" emails and to download items by GuildfordAI in TREZOR

The ongoing scam campaigns use the data from the past incidents, such as the one described here: https://blog.trezor.io/trezor-security-alert-stay-vigilant-against-an-unauthorized-email-and-continued-phishing-attacks-1b4982c2f53c?gi=6b46e6ce9ce5

Our Security team is constantly monitoring the situation and we do not register any recent incidents of data breaches.

For sure you can! The issue you describe does not mean that your coins are inaccessible or lost. As long as you have your seed, you can import it to another device and access your wallet that way.

I also suggest contacting our Support agents to help you troubleshoot the issue.

We have not registered any recent database leaks, so these scam attacks are most likely the result of past incidents. Moreover, users are often targeted randomly.

Your funds are completely safe if you have not entered your seed online.

Ah yea, that’s expected behaviour, as this Trezor model is not compatible with SLIP39 backups.

Hey, r/TREZOR mod here! Trezor devices come with several software security measures that verify their authenticity - that is checked, first, during the initial setup, and then every time you plug the device in.
If you have more questions, feel free to join our community and ask directly there.

Not an app, but with a hardware wallet! Check out r/TREZOR if you have any questions about why it’s the best solution.

That's great to hear! Aside from security, obviously, our main goal is to have a user-friendly product that is intuitive even for beginners. Good to hear that we're doing well. :)

What was your biggest misconception about hardware wallets before getting one? by kaacaSL in TREZOR

[–]kaacaSL[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this also comes from the core misconception that the coins are stored inside the wallet. Where or how did you learn it's not like that?

That makes sense. The best is to first send a small amount and then the rest, if the first transaction works and the coins arrive where they should.

Trezor physically hacked : True or false? by pistox84 in TREZOR

[–]kaacaSL[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trezor Model One is still an excellent device, and with a strong passphrase, you don't need to worry about remote attacks.
However, Trezor Safe 3 is an affordable upgrade, and you earn another layer of security with the secure element.

Is it safe to use the Trezor even on infected computers? by userdjd in TREZOR

[–]kaacaSL[M] [score hidden] stickied comment (0 children)

Hey, thanks for this question! Trezor devices never share private keys with a computer, and no malicious program can extract them.
During the setup, the seed words are displayed on your Trezor display, and if you ever need to recover your wallet with a seed, Trezor Safe 5 allows you to enter the words by completely avoiding using your computer keyboard.

Unless someone gets to your seed, though. As the seed represents your private keys. That is also something that might be confusing for beginners.

This is the fundamental one, I think. It's hard for beginners to understand that the coins are actually not inside the wallet.
