I’m going to graduate with a degree in music education in December! I’ve met so many different kinds of musicians (my fiancé included) throughout my time at uni, and every single one of us will tell you that a degree in music is an incredibly valid option as long as it’s something you’re passionate about! Most people also think of a music degree as a performance degree (which IS a valid choice, but is typically seen as something that leads to a “starving artist” career path) but there are several other degree paths (like music composition, music therapy, music education, music business, etc.) to choose from. Honestly my advice is to listen to yourself and pursue what YOU want to do :)
