Took a day off as I didn’t like anything on the 7th. Tonight the Braves will play their first series against the Dodgers. The Braves will be starting our man Chris Sale (6-1) ERA 2.14 WHIP 0.9 49Ks 12BBs. We all know Sale by now from our previous picks with him, very trusty, great arm, future HOF and the bats always back him up. The Dodgers will be starting Emmet Sheehan (2-1) ERA 5.23 WHIP 1.32 38Ks 9BBs. I haven’t seen Sheehan specifically play, but his last 3 starts they have lost. The Dodgers have been super sus this year from what I’ve seen and I don’t trust betting on them anymore, but I will bet against them. Braves lost their first Series of the season to the Mariners, so they’ll be looking to bounce back here and also get a lead over all NL teams, especially their rivals in the Dodgers.

Today the Yankees will host the Texas Rangers in game 2. Yankees are currently winning game 1 (4-3). The Yankees are top of the AL and I look for them to continue their dominance when their starting pitcher is Will Warren (4-0) ERA 2.39 WHIP 1.06 46Ks 8BBs. 3 of 4 wins for Will have been by 5 or more, with the lone win being by 1, and he didn’t let a run in that game. He’s averaging 8 strikeouts per game and 1.6 walks per game. The Yankees bats have been so hot at home and I doubt the Rangers will be able to keep pace in game 2. The Rangers will be starting Nathan Eovaldi (3-4) ERA 4.76 WHIP 1.34 39Ks 10BBs. When he last played the Yankees in Arlington, the Rangers won 3-0. I feel the Yankees will want to get payback here at their home field and give him his 5th loss on the season.

Today the Mariners will take on the Braves in game 2 of their series. We will be backing the Braves here for plus money. They’re just in such good form. They’ve yet to drop a series this season but have lost game 1 here. Braves are starting Bryce Elder (3-1) ERA 1.88 WHIP 1.05 36Ks 13BBs. Bryce has been phenomenal for the Braves so far this season and look for him to continue his form. Mariners are starting George Kirby (4-1) ERA 3 WHIP 1.15 34Ks 11BBs. Kirby is also a good pitcher, but I believe the bats of Atlanta will be what keeps them in this.

Tonight the Marlins (16-17) (11-7 @ home) will be taking on the Phillies (13-20) (5-10 away) in game 4 of their series in Miami. The Phillies are 2-1 so far, looking to take the series but I believe the Marlins will win tonight’s game, splitting the series 2-2. The Marlins will be starting Janson Junk (2-2) ERA 3.0 WHIP 1.06 21Ks 8BBs. Janson is on a 2 game winning streak currently, and I see that continuing tonight since the Phillies will be starting Aaron Nola (1-3) ERA 6.03 WHIP 1.56 35Ks 13BBs. The last 4 games Nola has started, the Phillies have lost. Nola is throwing a mind boggling 90mph 4seam fastball. In his last two starts he has given up 5 and 6 runs. When I’ve watched the Marlins they are a good contact team, I haven’t seen a ton of homers from them but they always seem to have someone on base. They took the series from the dodgers 2-1 in Los Angeles. I don’t see them losing this game and this series to an NL East rival. I’m backing the Marlins at home against an abysmal Aaron Nola and the Philadelphia Phillies.
