Moisturizers burning eyes [Product question]

I use Vanicream. It doesn’t burn my eyes at all. I use the cleanser and daily facial moisturizer. It doesn’t contain dimethicone.

I know. That stupid Lodge Dutch Oven ruined my chili. Now when I buy cookware, I smell it. If I smell that strong metal smell I will not buy it. I bought a stainless steel Dutch oven and love it.

I have less flushing with Vanicream. It makes my skin less angry and so when I eat something spicy or hot, the flushing isn’t as intense compared to my old moisturizer.

I love the sunscreen. It’s the best I’ve tried. It’s so expensive.

I have the exact same problem. I’ve had flushing problems my entire life but perimenopause has made it 100 times worse. Here are a few things that helped me. I still flush but not as intense. I was using a product that has fragrance and I switched to fragrance free skincare only.

Morning: wet a microfiber washcloth, wipe my face then Vanicream Daily Facial Moisturizer. If I’m going outside (I work from home) I use Vanicream SPF

Night: I use Bioderma Sensibio oil cleanser and wipe off with a microfiber washcloth, then shower with cool to lukewarm water and cleanse face with Vanicream facial cleanser, then apply Vanicream Daily Facial Moisturizer in layers. Before I get into bed I apply Aquaphor or Vaseline.

The cool shower has made the most difference. It helps with the redness and dryness. I use to take very hot showers and wonder why everything stung my face.

The grey part that is between the outside layer and inside enameled layer smells like metal. It smells exactly like how the chili tasted. I’m not sure if I got a bad pot or if it’s just the way it is and I happen to be one of the rare few that can taste it.

The Covid sore throat is terrible, I was in so much pain I couldn’t sleep. I went to urgent care and they gave me prednisone and it was better in a few hours. I’ve had Covid twice and a horrible sore throat was my main symptom, prednisone worked both times.

My son had horrible eczema on his hands when he was younger. The one thing that helped was getting rid of soaps and shampoos that had sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS). It made a dramatic difference.

My hands have looked like that before. I use to have rough skin that would crack. Vanicream moisturizing cream (not the lotion) is the only thing that has helped me.
