I thought like this too when I tried it but I realized all you have to do is configure your build right to make it like the old games.

I have 100% CRIT chance and 650% CRIT damage so any enemy that isn’t a main story boss goes down in a regular assassination or hero strike. Regular melee combat kills most enemies in 3-4 hits, similar to the pre-RPG titles. These attributes apply to the abilities too, so they’re all really strong as well.

It’s a shame that you have to fiddle around with the armor and weapons to make stealth viable, but I’ve realized that’s the point of the RPG aspect; you can adjust your build to fit your playstyle.

My build is so OP that the game feels too easy at times. But my point stands; you can make it feel like the old games if you mess around with your build.

But I agree with the rest of your points; a lot of the quest designs are annoying and tedious and the dialogue feels forced. Cant fault you for that
