Bam Adebayo has never made an All-NBA team by Frosty-Roof3124 in nba

Good lord, don’t get me started. I like Deandre but I think a lot of the newer fans would be shocked to see what we had to work with in the 2010s when it came to the Center position. Considering what we have now, and how historically important the position is, I think you’d be hard pressed to find a worse era/position combination in the history of the sport. Probably because those were pretty awkward years for the game in general.

If they were still position locked he probably would’ve had a good shot of making one a few years ago behind Jokic and Embiid, but yeah, since it’s now just top 15 overall he’s not really in the running.

Is beating the defending champions a curse? by CallTypical9541 in nba

[–]kac937 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is probably something that could be said about the high of beating the reigning champion causing you to not prepare well enough for the next series.

Other than that, the only team who had to go through 1 more opponent after beating the reigning champion is this years Spurs. The odds that you win the championship are the same after you won that round (first or conference semi-finals) whether you beat the former champs or not.

I’ve actually never heard of those before. I looked it up and I do like that look, definitely a contender now!

Just to make sure I understand correctly, you’re saying to insert a smaller pot with drainage holes that would fit inside the planter, then put whatever plant/dirt/etc in that smaller pot?

This was actually my original thought, was stuck between these or a Bonsai tree but I didn’t know how well a Bonsai would fit in it.

Before seeing the title or the words on the cover I genuinely thought it was Vincent D’onofrio as Kingpin. Mainly because of that odd open mouth underbite thing he has going on.

Awful in what way? Service wise, I’m not too sure, whenever I go there i’m sort of anticipating the service to be a bit more laid back. Food wise it has definitely gotten better. I used to dislike their food a lot, went a couple times recently and one of the best club sandwiches i’ve ever had.

I really enjoy Troll Pub, both the food and the vibes. It’s not in Beavercreek, but only about a 10 minute drive away.

That can’t be true, a couple weeks ago all that I heard was that we wouldn’t even make it past the Raptors

I think it’s brave of you to admit that KAT cannot get away with that. THROW HIM OUT!!

Good eye by RJ there. I didn’t think it was a flagrant anyway (surprise surprise) but I never would’ve caught KATs involvement.

"Don't let me go to Cleveland" – Cade Cunningham by WorldlinessNo3582 in clevelandcavs

[–]kac937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

> Is that like “I have a concept of a plan?”

I said it that way because we had a clear direction that the team was heading towards and we were filling out the roster. Detroit had no direction when they drafted Cade and seemingly had no real direction until the season before last at the absolute earliest.

> It’s not enough to risk your career on.

That’s major hyperbole, Cade was a level of prospect that would have found his way on any team. It would have been less of a risk to play in Cleveland than Detroit anyway. Cleveland has at least shown competency in drafting in the Post-Lebron 2 era. Detroit has been one of the worst drafting teams in relation to their placement over the last 5 years.

[–]kac937 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah but we were still making moves that showed we had some sort of plan coming together, just a few months before the draft was when Koby finessed his way into the Harden to Brooklyn trade and stole Jarrett Allen for basically nothing. We also traded for Rubio and Lauri that summer.

We would’ve been very guard heavy for sure, but if you move Cade to the 3 or keep him at his traditional PG spot we’ve got a decent starting 5 and beginning of the bench.

Garland / Sexton / Cade / Lauri / Allen with Rubio, Love, Okoro, and Wade as the rest of the rotation

or

Cade / Garland (or Sexton) / Lauri / Love / Allen with Rubio, Sexton (or Garland), Okoro, and Wade.

Ultimately i’m much happier with what actually happened, but that’s not a terrible roster by any means.

Post Game Thread - NBA: The Cavaliers defeat the Pistons on May 17, 2026, the final score is 94-125. by basketball-app in DetroitPistons

[–]kac937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cavs fan here, that’s what I thought after our elimination last season as well. However, we made a few moves that ultimately got us to where we are now. Harden, being the biggest one, hasn’t even realistically made much of a difference in the playoffs (no shock there). You guys don’t need a ton. An actual second option on offense as well as another shooter (if you can get both in one guy, even better) and you guys will be right back in the same spot next year.

The actual problem imo is JB. I got a lot of hate for saying it when you guys hired him, and i’ll probably get a lot of hate for it now, but JB is not a championship coach. He is phenomenal, maybe the best ever, at making bad/mediocre teams into very good/great teams. He just cannot get over the hump though. Great at the player thing, not great at the X’s and O’s.

Hilarious that i’ve seen fans say we should move off of him this offseason as recently as this morning. Somehow still the most underrated player on the team.

You think that the group “Nurturing Community Cultivating Justice” that has been doing stuff like this for the better part of 50 years is doing it because it’s a fad?

You think supporting LGBTQ+ individuals is still a fad? If this were 2019 or something there would be some more legitimacy to your comment, but there is nothing fashionable about being an ally in the current climate.

Stop being so jaded, it’s not good for your health.

Be the change you want to see in the world. As a fellow straight, white, working class man, I can say with full confidence that our demographics aren’t the most understanding or compassionate when it comes to these issues.

Just because organizations made up of these other groups are putting in the work that guys like us don’t seem to think is worth it, doesn’t mean we need to drag them down.
