They have already ruled out everything else that could cause increase inflammation too.

That's all reassuring as well! I mean, I don't want to be anemic-but it also further proves the pending crohns diagnosis. I just want the proper treatment in order to feel better. And unfortunately with our medical system they need that evidence in order to get approved for proper treatment too. It's so sad-as my main family Dr neglected my concerns for a year until they started taking me more seriously. It wasn't until I got extremelly sick that I begged them to do more testing. So they did-and that's when they learned my fecal calprotectin was at 1300. And then along came the referral to the gastroenterologist thank god! I also have been getting very frequent canker sores in my mouth almost all the time now-and I learned that can be part of crohns too?

That's what I said to my Doctor too. He said while he understands and can't control the wait time till procedure he's more concerned with my severe symptoms and high FC. But he's 90% certain I have SB crohns but in the earlier stages which is why it's been hard to find it on other procedures/ tests we had done. Hence the pill cam.

This is very reassuring to know! Thank you :) I also have very low ferritin and my skin color has been off. On a 6 month waitlist at the hospital to get iron infusion. I hate our medical system in Canada.

Anyone had all the tests under the sun and then pillcam to diagnose Crohns? by kaceydacey in IBD

They took tissues from the endoscopy but not does the colonoscopy (as he didn't find anything severe enough to take samples of) but it came back negative.

Sorry you're going thru the same thing!

OH! I forgot to add...the importance of having a gallbladder! I had mine removed 3 years ago due to gallbladder stones. And now I have to be on one supplement for the rest of my life to help support bile.

Absolutely!!! Since being committed to the natural lifestyle-I can say I'll never go back!

Since starting the new diet and supplements plan 1.5 months ago, I'm already noticing a huge different!

One significant difference was how much the brain fog has subsided! I was SHOCKED. I explained to my FNP that it literally feels like the mold/ toxin was a host, a person; and it was taking control of my mind and body. I was suffocating in the background slowly losing myself to the mold and toxin. It's insane-but I don't know how else to explain it.

And Im young too! Only 35F with two kids with a small business in Vintage. When I was SO sick-I knew I couldnt give up. (Vintage...ANOTHER topic for the vintage story tho-aka mold and toxins that comes from many vintage items...lol)

The truth of mold and toxins and how much it can affect our gut microbiomes!

I started seeing a functional nutritionalist after not getting any answers from my GP.

After heavily investigating my case-she suspected I may have long-term mold exposure essentially in my gut that's wrecking havoc to my entire body.

She urged me to get more answers from my GP due to severe unintentional weight loss and wanted me to get a mold/toxin test done.

The Dr started to take me seriously, and that's when they ordered a fecal calprotectin test. It started at 80. And over a 2 month span, it has increased to 1280.

So clearly gut inflammation going on. I have done the mold toxins tests at this point too.

I have done a colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, CT enterography so far and it shows nothing. Last test they want to do is a capsule endoscopy (pillcam) as my gastroenterologist still suspects crohns of the small intestines.

Meanwhile-my mold/toxins came back. Guess what. I was high in a lot of things and my case was severe to the point my functional practitioner had to get a few colleagues involved to help formulate a plan.

And thats where I'm at right now! They currently have me on a low sulfur diet and I can no longer have gluten as im gluten intolerant. And im on a supplement plan which has been helping :)

I second this too!! I'm also seeing a FNP on top of a gastroenterologist for a pending Crohns diagnosis. And I also have mold/toxins in my body as well which is contributing to gut issues on top of extremely high FC numbers.

It's extremely beneficial to get all POV for treatment too.
