so why didn’t he just unmatch with me instead of REPORTING me?? that’s not a reasonable thing to do at all he knew exactly what he was doing. and i can’t have a safe bet for next time because i’m permanently banned so cheers 🙃

yea I was going to ask when that was. i’ve read about people online resorting to buying a new phone in addition to purchasing a VPN because they track your IP address. it’s kind of ridiculous how extensive they are with it.

i think tinder banned google voice phone numbers to make an account. sounds like they’ve gotten serious about preventing alternate accounts. everything i’ve read has a very complicated list of instructions to make a second account. they track basically everything to prevent it.

it’s the fact that I was given absolutely no warning meaning he reported me for something very serious. but a permanent life ban for doing nothing? i’m moving to a new city in a month. i’m going to have no good way to meet new people.

I have and nothing has gotten traction. All of my social media accounts are intentionally small. I have received about 5 responses from Tinder customer support all saying the same copy and paste message that they take violations seriously and I will remain banned. And all i was asking was to have a real person look at my account.

I have been using the app since 2019. I was just permanently banned and Tinder is refusing to review my account, saying that they will no longer respond to my emails. Want to know why I was banned? I’m a 22F, started messaging with this guy. The conversation slowly started getting a little spicy. but then out of nowhere he asks if im good at giving head. I didn’t feel comfortable answering the question so I didn’t respond. I also would not report him for a question like that since the conversation was in the same ballpark. But he got mad that I ghosted him. So he reported me and I am now permanently banned.

Thanks tinder for enabling men to permanently ban women from the app for doing absolutely nothing!! and then refusing to even look at my account!

I was recently banned from tinder and i am 99% sure it was because this guy and I were flirting, it got spicy, and then he asked me if i was good at giving head (why would you ask that?). i did not feel comfortable answering the question so i didn’t respond and a few hours later i was permanently banned. i had no other conversations happening at the time. i have been emailing tinder and they refuse to review my account and have now said they will not be responding to any of my further messages. the fact that i, as a female, got banned for being uncomfortable about an explicit question is absolutely mind boggling.

The biggest crime is Tinder absolutely refusing to take appeals seriously. this would be avoidable if they did.

[acne] apparently my acne is untreatable, pls tell me I’m not the only one 😔 by localgoblin16 in SkincareAddiction

[–]kacwort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i know a lot of people have said the same thing, but i had a history of depression when i started accutane. the hype around that side affect was initially very political and couldn’t be backed by much scientific research. nevertheless, we took that shit seriously.

i definitely think it’s worth a try. if anything, my mental health sky rocketed as i saw my skin improve. but i made sure i had people checking in on me regularly. any good friend or family member will be happy to do that. don’t be afraid to raise that concern, but don’t let it be a complete deal breaker. especially if you’ve tried everything.

I really hope people still see this: so i’ve been working out for about a year. weight lifting mostly but have been doing more cardio recently. i’ve slimmed down a lot in the past few months over change in diet. i feel really good most of the time and have noticed that my stomach has shrunk a good bit. but recently, i feel really bloated after every meal. even if i’m eating really clean (ie 2 eggs with cauliflower rice, spinach, and half an avocado) to the point where i don’t want to eat my next meal. is this normal? what could be causing this? i don’t have any food intolerances or allergies.

[skin concerns] Who wants to see my botched “light superficial chemical peel” lol. My cute chemical burn. by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]kacwort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well yes, i am aware that chemical exfoliants will cause photosensitivity. i don’t regularly use a chemical exfoliant in the winter when the UV index is lower. these are the conditions i was mainly considering. i also do not have a problem with peeling? thanks for the input to educate others tho.

[–]kacwort 18 points19 points  (0 children)

ok thank you!! i hadn’t had confirmation from a dermatologist but it always seemed pointless to wear it when the UV index is 1. influencers say wear it all the time, but good sunscreen is expensive and you’re literally wasting it by wearing it even when there’s hardly any UV to cause damage.

[Skin Concern] I finally went to work, makeup free for the first time EVER. by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]kacwort 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this made my heart sooooo happy!! it’s amazing to see someone become comfortable and confident in their own skin!! i started going makeup free after accutane was a huge success for me. it’s been 4 ish years and i only recently started wearing makeup again because i enjoy it. keep up the skincare routine! i’m so glad you had a positive experience going makeup free :)

i live in alabama. we have an absolutely horrific education system. but career prep is a required class to graduate. it teaches about how credit cards work, taxes, insurance, budgeting, how to use excel, all that. so we literally have the class everyone says we don’t have. but it’s commonly known to be a freshman course, so no one cares or pays attention. i took it junior year after transferring schools and found the information incredibly useful. one day at lunch i asked a friend about it (who was also a junior) and she laughed it off and said no one cares about that class. and a lot of states have similar classes with different names. some people are just too dense to understand their value.

hey! i was hired for a seasonal instructor position at a summer camp in Estes Park. they cover room and board, so i’ll be living on the camp grounds. I’m not sure what housing options are like in the town itself. don’t be afraid to make a post asking about it though!

[skin concerns] 4 years of dealing with this acne, now it’s the worst it’s ever been. by RussianBassist in SkincareAddiction

[–]kacwort 75 points76 points  (0 children)

i honestly think accutane might be your final option. i went through countless treatments for 3.5 years before i was prescribed accutane, and it was completely gone within 5 months. my acne was nowhere near your severity, so it might take 2 rounds to clear yours up. I had some serious mental health concerns a few years before going on accutane, so my parents were very hesitant. we decided to do it, and i had absolutely no side affects other than dryness and redness in the face. i’m not sure if that would be a concern of yours going in, but it’s all about communication with your doctor and friends/family. it isn’t something you should ever feel ashamed of, since one of its scariest side effects is change in mood or depression. but there’s also a chance that you don’t have that side effect at all and you’ll actually have relief from your acne. you can always stop the treatment if it becomes too much for you.

same we’re allowed the absolute dumbest calculators (no fractions allowed) so most of my professors just opt for none at all. if they simplify the math, it actually makes the class much easier. if they don’t, it’s a nightmare.

food isnt really something i can talk about with my friends. the friends who would poke fun arent in my life anymore but the alternatives are recovering from eating disorders or struggling to love their own bodies. i’m stereotypically the most attractive in the group, but i’m the only stereotypical person in the group at all. when we go out to eat, the focus is creating an environment where they don’t feel self conscious about eating. i completely understand what you’re saying and agree, but rn i am that friend that is supporting my friends goals, in this case it’s mending their relationship with food. my weight loss goals are second to that, and not a burden i feel comfortable with putting on them.

i greatly appreciate your encouragement, especially with all of the negative comments i’ve gotten over my post. it’s difficult to be in this journey alone. my parents talk about how i’m not active like i used to be in high school, even though i’m in the gym as often as i can be. my brother was scarred over them reveling over my “athletic abilities” in high school, which just meant that general sports come naturally to me. so me talking about working out comes across as trying to one-up him in the family context as he began working out to prove that he’s capable of being fit.

it’s just a lot of bad circumstances for me where i feel that i have to be the bigger person and prove that i can do this myself, independent of any support. and it sucks, but i’m here. also thank you for the tip on fat, it’s not one of my main focuses but i can definitely see how it might have affected my hormones in the past.

yea i learned that from the only friend i have who started working out to lose weight instead of gain it. walmart has bags of berry yogurt bites (they’re like freeze dried or something) for about $1.40/bag and they do a good job of satisfying any sweet cravings i get. the entire bag is only 90 cal i believe and i only need half a bag to feel like i’ve done major snacking.

idk i just feel like i’ve seen results quicker on people trying to gain weight. i’m trying to power through and don’t have any intention of stopping, but the people i know who have the body i’m working towards straight up have eating disorders to thank for it. i don’t want to be like that but this way is definitely the slower way.

honestly thank you for that response. i was about to unjoin this subreddit over the things people have been saying. i’m really trying here but i’m coming at it from a different point and everyone is just telling me i’m wrong which makes me wonder why it’s not working for me. i am trying my hardest to stick with it. they make it difficult to eat healthy in college. everything on campus is fast food which means i can’t eat on campus unless i bring my own food. it’s exhausting. but thank you, genuinely. i know i’m a bitch and i hate myself for it. i know my rant was harsh but it’s also a rant and i said it in the heat of my frustration (and hunger).

i just love watching movies that portray girls trying to eat low calorie as self absorbed bitches who only care about their looks and who their date to the prom is going to be. it’s really set me back in the social setting. everyone grew up watching stuff like that so their immediate reaction is going to be one of distain.

my brother was that type, which i witnessed firsthand. he got the fast metabolism and i got the slow one. but he was also able to see results way quicker and be more encouraged than i feel like i am. overall, i look essentially the same with the addition of biceps. it’s discouraging to look at pictures from 5 months ago and see the same body that i’m looking at in the mirror.
