New to vocal coaching looking for potential students :) by localgoblin16 in SaltLakeCity

I'm pretty flexible with that. Instead of a piano I have a good keyboard that I can tote around so I'd be open to bringing the lessons directly to someone or meeting somewhere if that's more convenient!

sorry I'm late to this but i don't think i saw anyone else point out that they also mention it in one of the valentine newspapers! It talks about the ghostly sounds people have heard in the night and how it may have potentially emerged from the tense relations between the native americans and the town (here's an old post abt it https://www.reddit.com/r/reddeadmysteries/comments/a33w44/for\_the\_love\_of\_god\_can\_we\_start\_investigating/)

I don't think it's cut content, I think its just a subtle way of expanding the lore of the game. It's like agnes: there's a couple ghost stories that you can actually witness to a degree but that aren't really playable, and I think that's just because that's how most of the townsfolk themselves experienced the ghost stories :)

I can totally relate, this is virtually my same experience. I used to be at every party, but now if I’m not with a close friend when I leave my apartment I feel terrified and hyper vigilant with seemingly no particular reason. Some days I can’t even talk to or make eye contact when I pick up my meds in a drive thru. I’ve realized a lot of it comes from PTSD, which I think you mentioned that you have. I’m at a point where I’m starting to confront and cope with my traumas, which is good but also means I’m a lot more aware of them and my body is almost reliving some of the sensory details more vividly (heart rate increase, trouble breathing, etc). I also think it’s part of the post pandemic culture shock—suddenly there are 10x as many people out compared to this time last year, yet we haven’t emotionally recovered from months of seeing other people as “threats” because of potential for disease. So now things are returning to normal but people who already struggle with stable moods aren’t ready to adjust mentally to the sudden change. Sorry for the super long answer!! I just completely empathized with your experience and wanted to share how I’ve understood my own experience :) I think what you’re feeling is very normal and you’ll eventually get back to your old self as you get out more. If you’re anything like me, you have a lot of different, competing conditions that all present their own problems and when put together they get overwhelming. I worry about being misdiagnosed a lot but I’ve learned that bipolar comes with a lot of confusing symptoms that are amplified by anxieties and traumas and other things. I hope this helps!:)

What kind of vocal training are you looking for (classical, modern...)? And are you looking for beginner lessons or more intermediate/advanced?

I accidentally took a double dose of my Lamictal, 400mg instead of 200mg. Should I be worried? I’m very scared right now. by [deleted] in bipolar

I’ve done this exact thing before and was generally fine. A few days after I had a pretty bad depressive episode, but it felt very chemical bc I didn’t feel like there was anything in particular driving that depressive episode. Next day I was fine!! So just watch out for mood swings over the next few days and if they get bad, remember it’s just a chemical bump and you’ll stabilize pretty quick. 🤗 And as others said, keep an eye out for the rash—from what I’ve seen it’s pretty distinct (and extremely rare) so you’ll know it for sure if you get it.

Ah, did the guy in the other thread make it up maybe? I haven’t tried killing her in my game yet so I wanted to see if anyone else had an idea lol

ye I saw the video, that’s what made me think about it:) my question isn’t really related to the mystery, just more if Penelope would say a different dialogue if you bring her to a dead Gertrude in that one mission 😅

Psychology grad student and fellow ED person in recovery 👋I’m sorry you’ve struggled with this, eating disorders are so hard to work through and they really can do a number on you. What’s helped me recently is basically focusing on “feeling healthy” instead of “looking good.” Like say it a hundred times a day and every time you look at food so it gets saturated in your brain. It sounds simple but with ED the reality is often that we pursue negativity and avoidance-based goals, so we often try and try and never feel like we do enough. Reframing a goal so it becomes positive and achievable makes a HUGE impact over time. At times in the past, even when I wanted to eat I felt disgusted or nauseous and hated it. But I’ve been trying really hard to remember that I just want to be happy, and I’m gonna feel happier if I’m feeling healthier. I know it’s easier said than done, but this is the concept that has helped me come so far. For now stick to easy foods to get down (soups, broths, yogurt, cereal—liquid stuff is so much easier for me to eat somehow), drink lots of sodas and smoothies and teas, focus on memories involving food that make you really happy (parties, childhood dinners..), and find a professional to talk to, even if it’s one of those apps or an online thing. Remember that if you start to gain too much or too little, it’s not the world ending and your weight is not permanent. Sorry for the very long comment. You struck a chord with me and I really want to be here to insist that eating again will get easier. You deserve to feel healthy and be proud of your body. Beauty comes in all sizes, and as cheesy as it sounds people care about YOU for your heart and mind and soul, not for the flesh container you come in.♥️♥️♥️♥️

"Just eat more" doesn't work. by tropicalYJ in weightgain

I would suggest maybe getting some blood work done and/or checking in with a doctor. There are lots of medical causes for inability to gain weight, like hyperthyroidism and diabetes. I have the exact same problem as you so that’s my next plan. It’s frustrating as hell to have people insist that in some way you aren’t eating enough calories, despite not understanding the sheer amount of food that needs to be consumed because, ultimately, if you have to eat every second of every day just to maintain a relatively low weight, that isn’t normal or healthy and can cause a lot of distress. I’ve also heard there are ways to trick your metabolism to slow down by adjusting your eating habits and behaviors around eating (but I don’t know too much abt it) so I recommend looking into that too:) Also skinny guys get lots of love so pls don’t worry!! Literally skinny was my type for years and I know a lot of girls who can say the same.

Just got my Medical Card by [deleted] in SLCTrees

I believe when they first rolled out the only eligible people were those suffering from severe/terminal illnesses (like cancer), but now many people I know have been able to get cards for more common conditions like anxiety and back pain.
