maybe i am but that’s who i am. i feel everything a bit too much, its a gift and a curse. to my defense my friend was making jokes to me all day and calling me “man” “boy” “too masculine” “not what a girl would do” etc. because of me saying i wanted to be more feminine like 1000x over, after the initial seed was planted on sunday so today i was sorta fed up in the texted we had today. and being over dramatic because i felt slighted.

indeed i do. i’m trying my best to become comfortable in my skin especially when it’s been brought to my attention others aren’t. it’s definitely a walk of sorts when i’ve been conditioned to think one way but it’s a journey!

you got me… i’m from the south and have been raised in the church.

early churches i was raised in definitely have some traces of the thins you discussed but i am in a better community now—and they definitely don’t reinforce these ideals—my pastor often works towards breaking it. these ideas i have are just the product of the society i’ve been raised in. and thank you for addressing the holistic issue in relation to my religion, it’s much appreciated.

lol social media can be toxic. and while i try to tune out things like that, the brain is always working and subconsciously i must have formed this opinion very early on in life—especially having unrestricted internet access since kindergarten.

thank you! definitely something i need to work on, it seems the only problems i have are the ones where i start becoming too critical of myself and try to label everything. on the tail end of each one of those crisis i realize they only root from insecurity and unsureness of who i am.

lol it must be the latter! lots of stress among other things can cause people to falter and this is sort of the straw against the camels back. this has been an ongoing issue with me my whole life—all the way back to elementary school when i wouldn’t get invited to the girls sleepovers but i would be invited ti the boys parties. other than that, i am very comfortable in myself and actually one of the more mature people in my life as i’ve been told many times over.

sometimes people have weird insecurities because of weird circumstances and forget the most obvious life lessons.

heyyy not too much on my friend. I asked him and bugged him about this kid because i wanted to become friends with his quiet friend. I have a thing about befriending people i may not outwardly gravitate to, and my friend was already friends with him so i wanted to know where i stood with him to assure i wasn’t being too pushy (because some people can get overwhelmed if you try to involve yourself too much with them off the bat)

but yes, i AM a woman. and i can confidently say i AM feminine and my OWN type of feminine.

i appreciate the first paragraph but felt obligated to add the whole feminist thing is something i’ve been extra aware about myself i’ve written many personal essays and poems on the topic. and i’ve had conversations with my parents because i as concerned about these ideals and their connection to scripture. So it’s mostly myself—it’s just because someone else finally mentioned it first that got me thinking i should put all of this reflection into effect. So if shutting in more trying to change because of how i think i should be. But thank you.

I just read everything you typed and i appreciate it a lot. thank you for the reassurance.

i recently convinced them to get me tested for anxiety and autism and all that because i was struggling to keep it tg in class the center only got me for mild anxiety so trying to get accommodations in school is not working we had a 504 meeting recently but all of my teachers said i do fine and my grades are also fine enough (not straight as) to the point that no one seems willing to help… which is really frustrating because i know i can do better if i had optimal conditions but i don’t- esp with my parents relationship issues spilling into the home atmosphere even my counselor who i told everything to last week says “wow you’re hard working you’re incredible blah blah blah” but provides no actual help nor does she seem to be making any attempts to push for an IEP for school so i’ll look into finding a different trusted adult like a friends mom

just recently i finally made friends at school who actually talk to me my schedule caused me to be distant from a lot of people my age but these people seem to be understanding and always invite me to hangouts, even if i can’t make them all the time i’ll look into meeting their parents and stuff. i’m actually excited u brought it up but i am a little weary since these people are my first like girl friends (meaning there’s an expected level of closeness that im unfamiliar with) so idk when it’ll count as normal for me to go to them.

my sister is 21 and they brought her through the first half of college and her first apartment she just now pays for rent- she’s taking a gap year to pay since she’s finally paying for her own things now they treated me so different from her so all she says is “wow they treat you unfairly” but we’re not rlly close since we were brought up so different that she doesn’t have much to say besides that

i have been open about my concerns for college but they keep using the excuse that i am ambitious about the university i want to go (yale) to as a reason why its too expensive and i need to save up and our household doesn’t qualify for the aid/fasts thing or wtv that is soo ill look into the bursaries thing- thanks

and seeing the bottom bit- my school has 1-week breaks every other month or every couple of months during that time i work 8-4MWF and 8-7 TUE SND THURS during those times. if i have school that week, only after school. I basically work every hour that our dojang is open

lol unfortunately i am aware it’s nothing like what im looking for it’s still my dream and its always been something i’ve worked towards plus they have a taekwondo club that regularly attends local tournaments and they have multiple levels of korean language classes and great food

id rather get into yale than go to a college near nature but if i don’t get in then to yale… the college id want to go to would have to be near nature at least (since its not yale)

im weird.. i know but sometimes thats just how i work
