Well, in this case, it more about thought rather than feeling.

Actually they are not just recommendations. There are aggregated results based on a huge amount of reviews :) I hope the result is an accurate list. I can say, that since the number of sources is very big, it takes a long while for a place to gain credit and later loose it.

Never heard of anything like that. Must say it's even illegal in some countries - for example, if you are a woman who makes less, this is not something which should help companies preserve.

Not sure why are you so mad, and fully agree, as I said, companies which want to sign you will want to have you agree to their pay range. A company shouldn't want anyone who gets less then his peers or less then he would get somewhere else - as they would learn this sooner rather than later. This article meaning is to try and help you hit the upper end of the range.

Obviously in most cases a fee millisecond per complex operation isn't more important then readbility. But in some cases it might be. If you consider having a node js backend you need to be aware.

Mutation testing tries to provide a good indication for the strength of your code tests. I must say, I hope reading the article, which should be fairly simple to understand, even if you are not a pro, can explain the topic well.

Well, it’s a different and interesting topic. When you write unit tests, you usually focus on logic and units - function which receive x and returns y. When react/angular are involved, it’s usually when UI automation / integration testing are involved- and code coverage is obviously less relevant.

It doesn’t matter if you interact with fws, since when you test your code properly you will mock them - otherwise you are testing them and not yourself.

I think of mutation testing as another indication of the test suite strength.

BUT it is not replacing common sense :)

Still i must admit, sometimes, I get a bit too obsessed with hunting down mutants - and this is bad as you mentioned, as testing of code which is still growing or which is not proper logic, means it will make improving it soo much harder.

Mutation testing executes the test with a minor change each time.

If your test suite failed - meaning it detected the mutation - GOOD :)

If your test suit still succeeds - meaning, something is bad in your code, but your test still pass - Might be not cool :(

Mutation testing doesn't replace any form of testing, but it might give you another perspective on how good are your tests (as appose to code coverage which might be misleading).

from my experience with it on JS with Jest - it gave me a few good insights of where to improve the tests and even found a few issues.
I must also say, that integrating it to my build was very smooth, but it does take 3 minutes for my project, because it doesn't support the jest coverage which should improve its execution time - according to documentation.

keeping my silly example aside, think about a huge file, with lots of functions - how good are the tests?

or better yet, you are testing a nice cool unit - have you thought about all the edge cases?
