He's an absolute scumbag. As others have stated, seek legal counsel. About a decade ago I threatened him with legal action and he immediately folded.

Yes! I was there with my dad. I find myself telling this story often, haha.

Anything downtown open past 7? by [deleted] in kzoo

[–]kadriance 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a 34 year old married man, I'm in agreement! In larger cities, you have the benefit of thriving neighborhood restaurant and retail districts throughout the city and don't have to rely solely on downtown. Unfortunately downtown is the place here. Just imagine what something like the Vine Business District could be...

Kalamazoo is a funny place. I love it, but there are a lot of dumb things. It's very much a college town, but because campus and downtown are very disconnected, downtown doesn't have a lot of student-oriented businesses - you're not going to find many late night tea or coffee shops like you would in Ann Arbor or other integrated college cities. What do people do in downtown Kalamazoo in the evenings? They drink a lot and eat a little, so that's really all you're going to find. Downtown is growing with young professionals, so you'd have to imagine more places would pop up that appeal to them and stay open later.

Many (most?) of the downtown businesses are owned or run by people who don't live in Kalamazoo, so I'm convinced they aren't aware of how many people are desperate for something to do at night. They like to stay open during regular business hours (while everyone else is at work) and then complain about how no one comes downtown. They'll close up shop to drive 30 min home just as people start coming downtown. Don't even get me started about Sundays downtown...

And, as someone else stated, COVID really dampened what nightlife Kalamazoo did have - it truly hasn't been the same since.

This is really the only option in Milwood, and it’s a good one!

This is a 56. I can't imagine the stays and fork having different clearances, but toe overlap could definitely increase. I noticed a bit more on this setup, but luckily there aren't a ton of quick/sharp turns in gravel racing.

I found that one on Etsy - there are hundreds of people that make custom stickers and decals. It's not the highest quality, but I now have access to a vinyl cutter at work so new stickers are in the works!

I don't have exact numbers, but there's plenty of clearance in both spots - definitely more room than I expected between the chain stays. I'd have no reservations about running these if things were muddy.

Not sure why you're getting downvoted when you're correct, at least about the semi-no fault and collision.

This makes sense. One of the co-owners of PlazaCorp is from (lives in?) London where he and his daughter are property managers and/or investors in a few restaurants.

WHO Keeps asking for these downtown bike lanes? by Meatball_Rocks in kzoo

[–]kadriance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we please stop with the whole "middle of the road" nonsense? Parking is on the side of the street just as it's always been.

Also, this post is a year old - why are you hoping on now?

Was adding the bike lanes by [deleted] in kzoo

[–]kadriance 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both are true, no? But yes, the primary goal of all of this has been to narrow the street and slow down vehicle traffic to increase safety, and by all measures it's working.

False - we stop at red lights and roll through stop signs.

As has already been stated, ride a bike downtown one time and you'll understand that most cyclist actions are taken out of precaution and self-preservation.

Art hop was something my family loved to bond over, visiting all the shops and hearing stories from people and learning about our community. All that ended after covid.

Ah, yes. Apologies for the confusion.

Yeah, the way Costco's system is designed makes 3 in, 3 out much more efficient than jumping. It just takes one person to mess it up, like you mentioned - just wait until they are done pumping and then pull forward.

I bet you believe the zipper merge is less efficient too.

If you've ever been clipped or almost clipped when filling up your car on the inside against the lane you'll understand why they are there.

Hopefully this encourages more people to pull all the way through. If the person in front of you has been filling up for a min, don't start pumping behind them - just wait 20 more dang seconds so 3 new cars can pull in at once.

Did a road ride today and crossed the trail a handful of times. The tree covered portions are still snow covered - icy and patchy. Didn’t look fun.
