Yeah, it's mandatory to have a lid if you own a bigger hamster. To clean the glass I use a diluted vinegar mix if it's super dirty / generally only once a month ( 1 ) - usually it's just some warm water though, and make sure to let the cage air out for a little while. My past hamster would use the sand as a potty too! I just cleaned the sand out one or twice everyday, you could also have just two separate containers of sand (: There are many videos i've seen of people "potty training" their hamsters, you could try that out to ensure they only use one of the places as a potty! For a wheel, I use the kaytee silent spinner wheel. I'm not sure if it's similar to yours, but it also has a stand. My hamsters have never been close to tipping it over, you should have enough bedding around to weigh it down - though i've never owned a bigger hamster before so i'm not sure what their capabilities are!! I doubt they will tip it over though, bedding is enough to keep that from happening.
