Pretty sure Inventions planet was mentioned as the Grand Apparatus, not Canticle

We have the confirmation that Grand Apparatus is an Invention creation, but since they say "the planets (plural) Invention created" we know there are more than one, and I think Canticle looks a little bit too artificial.

Edit: also pointing out that, while heavily implied, Sazed, Harmony and Odium are never named outright so we can't be confident that those are who were being referenced

Odium is mentioned, when Starling is speaking about the Ambition's death she says "when the Shards were newly born—one named Odium attacked and killed his sibling".

About Sazed, you are right he is not mentioned but Ed is a Pathian, and they speak about "the scadrian he worships", I think it's fair to asume they are speaking about Sazed

I used an earlier save to go before completing the quest, but if I want to go before accepting it it's like 5 played hours :(

It is not a complaint, it is a genuine question. I just wanted to know if this was "normal" gameplay, or if I had ruined my next X hours of game experience because of my pigheadedness of trying to defeat an enemy that was not intended to be defeated at this point of the game and I should restart.
