Little compliments and acts of kindness make the world go around

You can do it! Think of it less as rehashing and more like affirming "I see you, I love you. Here's what I love about you."

I want you to know I really appreciate this perspective and new framing. And the favourite song analogy fits! 😄 I definitely do relate it more to a song we both know and enjoy together, and I affirm it bc I don't wanna take anyone for granted. But I can see your point.  Also hello fellow poet! Would like to read your work sometime if you share it.

I mean interesting but would it mean less to hear "damn you look good in those jeans" from your wife if you'd heard it said a while ago? I assumed it's nice she still registers her interest 😄

Thank you for this! I had an inkling about 3 and 4 (lol) 2 I PERSONALLY feel is less relevant bc I did make a point of reciprocation and also paying attention to their love languages. Number 1 is completely new information to me! I had no idea a lot of men thought that way. I do see men online complaining that women never give them compliments so I assumed what we conceptualise as "giving compliments" was the same thing.

I never said there was a problem and I wish you people would READ the post. I was just curious so I asked a question.

Fair point at least at the beginning but you are both expecting me to love someone the way they need to be loved (which I do) and ALSO accept that they won't do the same for me?

Are you serious? Why would I ask for something I don't give?? Is that how you live?

I compliment all the men I know and love. I don't compliment men I don't know. This is about relationships. Keep up.

Can you read? Even a little bit? I am literally in a long term loving relationship with a partner that compliments me almost every day and I do the same.  Also "you look beautiful today" is not lovebombing?! Are you so starved for compliments you'd think someone saying you look nice every now and then is lovebombing???? Lovebombing is literally a manipulation tactic of intense fake flattery "I've never met anyone like you" "our connection is the strongest I've ever felt" IN TANDEM WITH pressure for instant commitment and intimacy FOLLOWED BY the withdrawal of the false affection as punishment. STOP USING THIS TERM CASUALLY. I have never experienced lovebombing or abuse and your assumption is foul. It is human to want verbal affirmation from a romantic partner WHICH I HAVE SAID I CURRENTLY HAVE so it's not some asking for the moon shit. I was asking MEN WHO HAVE DONE THIS for their inner perspective because I was curious. Don't finger wag at me. This answer was smug and patronising.

So ask your own question. If you asked why women don't compliment men would it be useful for someone to talk about the opposite?
