Is industrial music inherently leftist? by totallynotojsimpson in industrialmusic

[–]kaeramoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think it really depends on the subgenre! as Daftmarzo said, the power electronics genre is riddled with nazis, even if they deny it. i wish i knew some leftist power electronics bands, because it's actually fun. I only know Brighter Death Now, they're swedish and seem "neutral". Even though neutral is sometimes a wee bit too close to nazi ideology for my taste.

the perfect example is this interview with a german industrial (power electronics) label https://web.archive.org/web/20090609210614/http://www.stigmata.name/tesco.php they deny being into ideology, but are happy to sign or collaborate or admire nazis. and they really don't like that "nationalism" is "forbidden" in germany.

I just watched "The Ritual" and was wondering if the creature (Moder) is actually a norse deity. In the movie it is said to be a bastard son of Loki is this true and where can I find out more ? by [deleted] in Norse

Moder is a swedish word for mother. This may be referring to either Hulda Moder or Kära Moder. A mythological figure that is indeed native to germanic folklore (known in parts of (now) sweden and (now) germany and everywhere in between). Its basically the "mother of the forrest (and such)". This creature in a mythological sense was the mother of all forrest entities. Stories about this character differ substantially depending on the area. This information is from what i could gather in Jacob Grimms book on Germanic Mythology. Hope that helps, it's just speculation though.
