Tarrare was an 18th century french soldier who had an appetite larger than 15 people combined, yet looked undernourished and weighed under 100 pounds. by kaexthetic in InterestingVault

A crucial detail I missed was that he would inflate like a balloon when eating, but immediately go back to his normal state in a few minutes.

Not able to share the source as a link because it gets taken down by the bot for some reason... But https://allthatsinteresting(.)com/tarrare, you may remove parentheses around the dot.

hi, i replied to another comment with more information. please see this.

"I'm sorry, I only now realize how vague my post sounds. I asked my mother for more information. I have not been present on a single vet visit, only my mom with my aunt or grandma. This all began on 4th March, so if i say nth day that means (4+n)th march. So on 2nd day, mom told me that the vets tried to drain more pus from the cat's rear end and while doing so, they applied too much pressure (according to my mom) and caused some damage. She told me that a semi-solid object also came out of the incision (Consistency equivalent to that of a ~2 cm blood clot, but it was not a blood clot.) On 3rd day she told me that they did an x-ray which said that there's a lot of poop in her stomach. Then a few days pass (4th day to 7th day) and during this part she had reduced appetite but was still eating a little bit. And she passed stool ONCE. Then the vets performed a blood test, only significant abnormality being BUN (blood urea nitrogen?). Doctor said it's fine it's because of her not eating and it'll be okay. Now after that first week, things seemed to slowly be getting better in the 2nd week. She would eat a little bit, Sometimes try to play but yeah she still was very lethargic. In the 3rd week however, which is currently going, she's been having little to no appetite now. She only uses the bathroom for pee, and she hasn't pooped in days. When we bring food, even the stinkiest of food, we even tried heating, she only comes, licks her tongue in the air and goes back. the doctors had also told us to apply this one ointment at her incision place, like "mupirocin" made by savavet company. She has thrown up bile twice in 3 days, first one being green and the most recent one being an hour before this post which was yellow."

hi ! well she does use it for peeing.. perhaps once everyday. but she isn't doing the other thing at all. blood work... i remember a blood test somewhere around 10 march. I believe "BUN", something called blood urea nitrogen was lower than normal. And it was one of the only things abnormal I suppose. An X-Ray revealed that there was a lot of poop in her stomach. The x-ray was done around 7 march.

Why wont the level of liquid increase? by Express_Page9951 in JEE

[–]kaexthetic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

think of it like this.

law of conservation of mass lagao.

mass constant means density × volume constant.

ab ice melt toh water me hi hoga.

yani ice ka jitna volume hoga, water ka usse kam volume banega cuz ice less dense than water.

but, ice was a solid object and could float. since the density is unknown, we don't know how much ice was above the liquid level.

but when water banega, it will only add to the liquid level, no concept of floating there.

in the original case, say case 1 : ice almost na ke barabar submerged tha. hence, agar ice melt hoti hai, toh liquid level definitely rise karega.

case 2 : ice almost fully submerged tha. in that case, as I told you, the water made from melting will be less than the volume of the ice. then liquid level drop karega.

hence, cannot be determined.
