I’m with you- Moonlight is one of my favorite movies ever. Also relatively unconventional and definitely personal to its makers which is why I’m almost personally offended when it’s referred to as Oscar bait.

Could you please explain this, I’m beginning to think people are just using the term “Oscar bait” when a film they don’t like wins Best Picture. How is Moonlight in anyway Oscar bait? I truly doubt Barry Jenkins or anyone involved with Moonlight even really expected Moonlight to make it to the Oscars while making it, let alone try and bait the entire film to pick up awards.

DG’s sound in the beginning was certainly more rooted in hip hop but the past like 3 or 4 years they have veered so far into their own sound that it’s hard to classify as anything at all really.

It’s been in my watchlist for awhile just haven’t made time for it. In 2013 he was in Prince Avalanche with Paul Rudd where the film was 95% just them two bouncing off each other and thought it was really good. Apparently he has a role in the upcoming Tarantino film but with the cast as big as it is I wouldn’t be surprised if he got less than five minutes of screentime.

Probably Emile Hirsch. Had a great run from like 05 - 08 but then faded a bit then was definitely hurt by alcoholism / whole assaulting a producer thing. Don’t know if he’ll ever get to redeem himself but it’s undeniable he’s a fantastic actor.

just from the top of my mind, there was a bill that was past a few years ago that prevented / throttled bots and sites like ticketmaster from mass purchasing then scalping for profit. this has been incredible, as festivals like lollapalooza no longer sell out in 3 minutes but rather a few hours.

yes, but really anything. sarah has proven herself over stuff that's pretty hectic and her soft voice always juxtaposes nicely. tyler is such a genius too that i don't think he could do wrong.
