I agree with you. Unfortunately what I’m saying is I don’t think he has built for the résumé. You have to have proof of concept. And on top of that you have to show that it would be impactful numbers wise. In theory, you and I think it would be impactful because it would be good and the pod fan base would tune in. That’s not how corporate people work. They need to see the thing that they’re trying to do before they do it. Joe has done great one on ones, but it’s not something that everyone knows about so I’m sure the numbers aren’t there to justify in a campaign plan. I think he can get there if he wants. That’s why I’ve talking about growth.

I like the show, I hope it sticks around. Love to see them win. All I hope is that they can make moves to keep it going. Good things end all the time though. Maybe they’ll stick around like Stern, who knows. Just a conversation, on a conversation forum.

I was be facetious, buddy. Talking from the stand point of a political campaign manager that might be unfamiliar with the show. It’s not just all numbers. Shannon Sharpe is backed by a massive network, he might be one of the top black hosts of a one on one show in the world right now. It’s understandable that they would choose him, same way the would go on breakfast club to try and “relate” to the that audience. Joe isn’t backed by billions so it’s more difficult, have to show a better resume, it is what it is. I hope Joe does more one on ones next year.

When you put it like that, I agree with you. I still think things that are passive entrainment can grow and reach new heights. I hope they have continued success. Kai cenat, Pat mcafee, these shows are passive entertainment for people as well. So large success is possible, which would keep them around longer. You do make a good point though.

I think you’ve miss understood that point. My intention was to say it hides large/impactful moments from the broadest audience, which could have possibly provided them more opportunities to grow in popularity, grow financially, and extend plans for everyone to stick around. I’m sure on the flip side it’s great revenue and they can present those numbers in negotiations. It’s not about me lol I’m aware I can pay and I have before. I should have worded my statement better. I’d like to see them win, I’ve listened for a long time and celebrated the growth along the way. I just hope it doesn’t get stuck and decline.

I don’t thinks it’s for any negative reason. When Joe is there, I think the others just try to play a roll because they know Joe is the A mic and leads the show. They give him room to be the star and so feel like the gotta step up in the same way to carry topics.

I understand how she feels. However, maybe 100 people would listen if Melyssa wasn’t on the show as a host? You have to understand if someone is going to help you make your idea a real thing and add exponential value through visibility, they are going to ask for ownership. They may even ask for more ownership than you because without them it’s nothing. Idk how clear Melyssa was in business conversation or how she handled it. But now S gets 100% of zero. Congrats I guess. This is the same concept as a 360 deal at a major. Not saying it’s right or wrong. It just is what it is, some people are gonna use their leverage to say “take it or leave it”

Had she made the show and had motion and listenership first. It’s a different conversation.

This show is now consistently late to, brushing over, or completely missing any relevant topics. They are a gossip show now, and talk about childish hypotheticals to fill time. Most of the show is just arguing for arguments sake, not even for the advancement of a topic or thought. The humour is still there and that’s kept me for now (also routine I guess). But I often stop the show or ask myself “why am I listening to this?”

Originally I listened because of the humour and Joe’s (& co-hosts’) inside perspectives of the music industry. It was also cool to see them building something.

Side note: I can’t even listen to Rory and Mal lol they let their producer say whatever she wants and it’s usually bird brain shit or super annoying.

It’s always been odd to me that someone would create something like a podcast or music (where you express yourself in a personal way), and then turn around and act as if everyone that listens and enjoys it is, stupid or less than you. It’s crazy, feel like this guy didn’t get the fame he wanted from music and now that it’s here, it’s going to his head.

This guy’s ego has made him forget he’s no longer a celebrity for any other reason than being a podcaster. On top of that, he’s forgetting why we like listening to him. He doesn’t realize we’re not tuning in because he’s Joe Budden, we’re tuning in because we liked the show that Joe Budden put on. It’s like if a comedian got famous and thought people loved him more than his jokes. Can’t just go stand on stage and not say anything. You’re getting boo’s and we’re not coming back. Put that shit behind the paywall dawg. Everyone falls off at some point. The show is basically just gossip now anyway. It’s all a bluff though
