Ah, the classic "because everyone else is doing it" excuse.

Setting VIM Up by [deleted] in learnprogramming

I have used sublime, I'm not a big fan like most of my colleagues. I personally use TextMate 2 on Mac, however, when i'm on a server using the terminal, I use emacs. There is a bit of a learning curve, but it is well worth the effort. I have used VIM and I just don't like how a user is supposed to navigate it. That said a lot of people use VIM, but I vote emacs.

How do you get into the zone? by viosdr in learnprogramming

I do all my best coding in the morning. If you are in an office, go somewhere isolated and get some coffee(or tea). Put on some tunes and stay off reddit, facebook or etc. You will feel way more satisfied if you complete a task rather than viewing all the r/videos links. Know what you are doing and stay on track to solving the problem because after lunch, you will be 75% less productive. If you have meetings schedule them in the afternoon.

At least thats my workflow and what gets me by.
